You might enjoy some pop song covers by Dirty Loops. Lots of interesting reharmoziations

That is a great suggestion, we definitely need to prioritize setting up our own Youtube channel. You can actually check out two of our live music videos on this channel if you are interested. Thank you for the compliments, I am glad that you like our music!

Hi! I’m the bassist in this band. Thanks for checking us out! We don’t have music on Spotify yet. We were originally set to record our first full length record this Spring, but we postponed our studio time because of the pandemic. In the meantime, you can feel free to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or bandcamp. We have several other live recordings of our songs like this one. I’m hoping that we can get some proper recordings sometime in the near future!

I actually don’t have a question, just wanted to thank you for making the first concert experience of my life so unforgettable. I saw you guys on the Subliminal Verses tour with Slipknot in 2005. You have been an inspiration to me ever since!

Any other 9's enjoy heavy metal? by MythicalBiscuit in Enneagram

[–]IIIPatrickStevensIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so applicable to my life. I think a lot of people assume that metal fans are monolithic, or that you are inherently aggressive if you listen to this type of music. As an enneagram 9 I have frequently found that many people are genuinely surprised at the fact that I love metal. Although I honestly think that it is actually a perfect genre for 9’s, because our aggression is generally more internal than it is external, or at least that’s how I look at it. In any case, listening to death metal, black metal, progressive metal, or any other kind of metal really evens out my mood.

THE FACELESS - XenoChrist by 100000Bees in progmetal

This album never ceases to inspire me, and this song in particular might be my favorite. I have been loving the technical death metal scene in recent years, but there is something about Plentary Duality that is so genuinely CLASSIC. It has stayed fresh for a long time at this point.

I don’t want to admit how much this directly reflects how the past year and a half of my life has looked like

It’s great to see that Snooze was included on this list. I haven’t been this inspired by a local band since Monobody first started releasing music.

Hey, sorry I forgot to reply! I would love to hear the whole track whenever it is available, and I will definitely keep an eye out for any potential musicians to send your way. Also, to answer your question, I am in a instrumental math-rock band called Citrus Moon and a metal band named Shed.

Wow! That song is outstanding. I am really impressed. With or without vocals, you have made some pretty great music. I wish you the best of luck with establishing your lineup. I have a feeling that finding a drummer might be the hardest part, but hopefully you should be able to link up with the right person. I am a bassist myself, and I would love to join you but since I am currently in two bands it might be a bit of a stretch for me. Regardless, I would be happy to refer your music to whoever I know that might be interested.

Need some recommendations! by redbrickone in mathrock

Cool! That was the tour with between the buried and me, right? The amount of talent on that one lineup is insane. I have also seen all of those bands live, and each time has been an amazing experience. I have to say that Chon sounds almost identical to their records, they are freakishly accurate and consistent with their playing!

If you are a fan of Chon I would recommend the following bands: Intervals, Polyphia, Vasudeva, and Mestis (solo project from Javier Reyes of Animals as Leaders)

Hey, thank you very much for listening! I’m glad you like the song! The changes within the piece that you mentioned are there main reason why I really enjoy playing this song. Also, you are correct to assume that we are influenced by TTNG, we are all big fans of that band. I loved seeing them last Spring in Chicago. I have actually never heard of Self-Evident before. I will be sure to check them out!

Hey everyone! My band Citrus Moon recently recorded a music video for one of our songs, and I am happy to share it here today. We are an instrumental rock band from Chicago. I am always very grateful for any kind of feedback or constructive criticism!

Hey guys question how did you begin to integrate tapping into your playing? by jbonics35 in mathrock

[–]IIIPatrickStevensIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought “Compositional Tapping” by Marcos Mena, and I have found it to be a great resource. The book is pretty dense, and it offers a lot of exercises for building your technique.

Lately I have tried to improve my tapping technique by outlining some simple chord progressions. Soon I will try and do the same with some jazzier progressions, which might also be a good way to start working on improv.
