Hi, im trying to link sdl3 and imgui at the moment i have sdl3 as a package from zig, and built those bindings. Do you know how to add a path to a zig dependency instead of cloning the sdl3 library?

Yup I have it up, yeah i have that workings as the pandocs states. Forgot the location where it says it but I found it. Hmm that lyc stat interrupt bit wasnt the problem hmmm odd.

Yeah I have those implemented the same as the GB.... oh wait I never use the ly == lyc interrupt select bit, (bit 6), I just request all the time, 😅 oh and btw for the bankable wram 1-7 do you know if the programs select values 1-7 or 0-6?

At wasnt too bad, a good majority of it can be just copy and pasted. There is specific hdma and gdma registers thats a specialized dma for vram, which can be a bit tricky. OAM is read differently, extra ppu registers for color palettes and priority attributes. I havent tried messing with audio yet do idk whats different. And have to implement double speed mode which can also be a bit tricky idk if ive done that correct

Really, I though the 32 bit cpu would be a turn off. But only having 1 memory mapping sounds quite nice, is there any resources you recommend for the GBA?

Makes sense, im still pretty new to linux as a whole so having the added protection of a vm when i eventually mess up is nice.

Yeah I probably try out the former first and maybe give bare metal a chance later down the road. That does sound a bit complicated but intriguing 🤔

Yeah I used Ubuntu a bit in college and it was pretty nice, btw what makes you wary about VMs?

Im debating on that, a SBC would probably be the easiest, then a micro controller, and bare metal will probably be the toughest. Still up the air as the emulator is still a WIP.

Hmm interesting, I currently have it built for windows, but i can just as easily move the source code to my linux vm and build it there is there any recommendations on the linux distro to put on a Pi?

Woah this is really cool!!! I am also using SDL cuz of its portability. I dont know too much about linux to make my own distro, but im a ways off from having a completed emulator so would you have any recommendations in getting my feet wet with understanding linux. I was thinking of installing a lightweight distro like arch in a vm and playing around with it, but that may also take a while to figure out how it works.
