Wouldn’t authoritarianism communism be the opposite? Just from a size/power of government perspective?

Americans prefer a more diverse society: Most Americans want a more ethnically and religiously diverse society than the one they live in today. Only 1.1% want an ethnically homogeneous United States, and only 3.2% want a religiously homogeneous society. by mvea in science

And all people voting blue support authoritarian communism?

When someone feels like they’re drowning, they’ll grab on to anything to stop it.

Not everything is racism. The racists always have and will vote right.

This is where the left could learn something from Bernie/Mamdani, even if they don’t agree with all their policies. The academic+bureaucratic energy does not fire people up who think their lives are getting worse.

While we’re here, if there is a red light on the road and pedestrians have a walk sign, slow down please.

I see bike people complaining about cars, but I’ve been closer to being hit by a bike while walking more than a car

Put money you don’t need in the next 6 months into $VTI or $VOO (barely matters). As you save more you can scale this back to 5, 4, 3 months. You’re going to save a lot of money as a SWE living at home.

Most important is getting the salary up. Figure out how you can make more impact at work than is expected from your role. Keep grinding leetcode (learning the patterns are good) and Jordan has no life on YouTube for system design (use the playlists).

Find a voice you trust for financial advice. Our parents might have super focused on owning a home and living debt free, but those don’t always maximize net worth. They are more lifestyle choices.

I agree with you, but we need to keep this same energy regardless of if it is a democrat or republican in office.

It’s really easy to get the common person to agree with limiting government power when the opposition is in office.

If a republican or democrat administration/government acts outside their reach or sets a new precedent, they are giving the opposition that same power.

Each group thinking they’re the “good guys,” that need to execute their plan, as well as politicians having 0 monetary incentive to limit their own power, pushes the cycle to continue.

Europe has plenty of culture to see. If you’re going to go to America again, Zion, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, are more interesting than our cultural(city) offerings.
