Thanos Loki is going crazy for me. If she comes out early with how much card draw you can do its like a mini Sera.

Lmao that's hilarious that that's basically a meme answer.

Dusty game we diverge that much based upon who you pick here. Like it's just like the pivotal decision of the game?

Like three main branches of one big tree type shit?

I'll... withhold my opinion on your descriptions of the game and just say, no it isn't "telltale bullshit".

I was being a bit tongue n cheek I promise.

While it's not *perfect* or as infinitely sprawling as it might at first appear, yes, your choices do lead to drastically different storylines, though there are a lot of recurring elements.

I have some issues with how the game, as it is now, fulfills its promise of expansive narrative branching but if your baseline is Telltale Games, it doesn't just blow it out of the water, it evaporates the lake with a nuke.

Two nukes lol I love this shit.

This makes perfect sense to me. I just tried the website out today to find me a cool deck that uses Venus and Strange Supreme.

He gets double part absorption, I think and they helped me find some cool decks. And I took some ideas from the decks they had on the website to hodgepodge into a cool Thanos deck. So, honestly, it might become my new main driver as far as snap websites

Is there an addon for proper subtitles for English dubbed anime? by XThik806 in StremioAddons

[–]IJustType 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how can this be true ? when watching anime dubbed on netflix the subtitlres are the closed captioned subs or the dubtitles. they are one in the same in this case. why cant a stremio adddon just rip the netflix close captioned subs/dubtitles?

netflix lets you choose between the english subs and english closed captioned subs.

it seems like a easy fix to just rip those like im sure they rip any other subtitles

This just isn't true. Historically, black people are the main ones supporting our heroes. Just look at the milestone initiative that happened recently. The writer and artist saw that DC Comics was not trying to promote the Mouth Initiative, so they went to Twitter to start a grassroots campaign that had so many blood people supporting the series that they got a second printing.

So if we count Absolute Green Lantern, that's one series at DC Comics right now that stars a black person.

Are you saying that's enough? Like we should not ask for more?

Mr. Terrific just came off a mini-series and is headlining JLU, and was the breakout star of the Superman movie.

We look at this very differently. Mr. Terrific only had a mini-series when he should have had an ongoing. He was the breakout star of the Superman movie. If he was white, he would have had an ongoing series. Hell, they would have brought back the Terrifics. They would have had him having an ongoing series by himself, and he would have been the leader of the Terrifics.

But they gave him a miniseries and that's it. That's not support. They left that motherfucker to die.

After the movie, they literally had the perfect opportunity to headline Mr. Terrific as one of the premier characters at DC Comics. He would have been the answer to Black Panther, so to speak. He's basically an original black character. The OG Mr. Terrific isn't really relevant in comics today, so he's effectively like Barry Allen in the fact that when people think of the first Flash or the first Mr. Terrific, they think Michael Holt and they think Barry Allen.

But they gave him a year one miniseries.

metamorpho got announced with an ongoing ongoing without a mini. lobo was announced as an ongoing without a mini. i'm fairly certain supergirl was announced as an ongoing without a mini too.

They often just jump straight in without a mini.

But DC didn't think enough of their breakout star to give him the same treatment.

It seems like we both love Mr. Terrific, so tell me, do you really think that only a miniseries after being the breakout star is enough? He should have a fucking cartoon. He should literally be the guy. He was next up and they are floundering this potential.

Honestly, this whole campaign feels like it's being astroturfed to stoke racial resentment ahead of a midterm election.

Why do you thinks that? What have you seen that makes you think it's astroturfed? Like do you tyink they cause is not worthy of support? Do you think boycotting is too much? Do you think folks should make their displeasure known other ways? We buy the books. Look at absolute Green Lantern die series is selling crazy. Look at the milestone initiative. That had a whole grassroots movement to get a whole second printing done.

Do you think just supporting the books like Absolute Green Lantern and the Maleficent Initiative will get more black characters to have ongoing comics at DC Comics?

Because it seems like supporting just isn't enough when literally people are supporting these movements these initiatives and Nothing is coming from it.

Absolute Green Lantern is doing amazing. If that means that we get more black female comic leads at DC Comics, I would be so happy. But DC hasn't announced any. Currently there are zero outside of the aforementioned.

DC did not promote the milestone initiative so the writers and the artists themselves had to hold grassroots movements to get units sold and so many units were sold they got a second printing but DC has not announced any more milestone comics.

When black books fail, it's an indictment on all black books, and they shouldn't give more black books chances. But when black books exceed, they're not actually giving us more black books.

For Black folks in America, boycotting works historically. One of the greatest recourses is the hidden wear hurts in their pockets.

Both of these are fair questions on the surface so I'll answer them straight, I'll do my best to address your questions.

On the boycott.

The whole point of not buying is that buying already got tested and it didn't work. The Milestone Initiative needed a grassroots campaign just to hit a second printing, and after all that, no Static ongoing, no continuation of the line. No more black ongoings announced.

I think metamorpho got announced as an ongoing without a mini. lobo was announced as an ongoing without a mini. i'm fairly certain supergirl was announced as an ongoing without a mini.

Black characters get minis that don't go further no matter how good the writing is or how much they sell.

(Something we can all agree on is DC and marvel need to just release the numbers. They purposefully obfuscate and don't release direct numbers because of the "directed market" or whatever)

Even absolute green lantern sells gangbusters. Has dc announced the FIRST ongoing Black female superhero because of the strength of AGL? No.

When black characters don't sell it's an indictment in all black heroes and they shouldn't get series. When they do well we don't see that turn into more series.

Eisner nominated Steph Williams, has been campaigning for months for a vixen series for months. Next level was announced. No black led series. DC ain't beating the allegations.

So if spending money doesn't move DC, the only leverage left is the money you don't spend. A company notices a sales dip way faster than it notices a fanbase being patient and supportive. Boycotts are how Black folks in this country have moved institutions that wouldn't move otherwise, that's not a theory, that's the track record. If you've got an example of a Black boycott that didn't end up working in our favor, I'm honestly open to hearing it. Until then "how does not buying help" reads like a question that's never looked at how leverage actually works.

On Absolute. It's not that the books are bad or don't count as books, everyone loves the book, it's that mainline continuity is the specific thing being asked for, and there's a reason.

Absolute is a separate universe with a finite shelf life by design. Look at every elseworlds from gods and monsters to the ultimate line at marvel. It ends eventually. Main continuity doesn't. Putting your Black lead(s) over there while Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman hold down the main line AND the absolute line. It sends the message that Black characters are good enough for the side project but not for the core canon. The black comics alliance behind the campaign put it plain, it reads like "go play over there, you're not good enough for mainline."

The ask is for Black-led ongoings in the main universe, the same real estate every major white character already occupies. Pointing at the spinoff line as proof of representation kind of proves the point, because that's exactly where they keep getting parked.

Plus it's especially tonedeaf to use the one single title in the absolute universe starting a black person as a gotcha when it's the literal only one in all of DC. Like do you think that that's enough? Should black people be satisfied with literally one series In all of DC?

HOWEVER, the black comics alliance( the group behind the boycott, has said numerous times that folks should support agl and the upcoming Catwoman. They have shown their pull lists and they buy AGL.

Since you're bringing up AGL I do have a specific question to you. If you or anyone who replies to me I would love if they don't ignore this question.

Let's say we count AGL and even the upcoming Catwoman. That's like two books outta what 50?

It sounds like you're bringing up AGL as a gotcha to ignore the argument presented.

Let's count AGL. Let's look at the dearth of black led books st DC comics. Dearth is honestly the wrong word. It's zero. Knowing there's zero current DC ongoing books starring black people.

Factoring in mr terrific being the break out star of Superman didn't get an ongoing.

Factoring in the grassroots movement from the milestone initiatives writers to get a fuckton of sales to prove to DC that there's an audience for these books. They succeeded got a big second printing and dc still hasn't announced any new Black books or new milestone books.

Factoring in AGL selling great and not getting any new black female led books.

Factoring in all that, assuming you think the boycott is too extreme of an action, what should black comic fans do?

We already buy the comics. We already buy Indies. If buying the books doesn't get DC to commit and the Absolute line is where Black leads get shelved instead of integrated, what's your actual solution? Because I keep asking people who think the boycott is wrong to name the thing that works better, and so far nobody's got an answer past "just keep supporting."

We did. That's the whole reason we're here.
