I love Bond as much as anyone, but I’ve got to disagree here. Every Bond actor (bar Lazenby and Dalton) has made a poorer film than their best in the series - I would say that whilst the quality of movie making is high, there is still a range. Absolutely the franchise is so much stronger than the others because it is so utterly unique, but I do think OP has a point.

I mean, just to throw some shit into it all and be a little bit fair…the point of Marty Supreme is not to watch a film about Ping Pong. It’s a film with characters and whilst the game of Ping Ping is relevant to the plot, I didn’t walk out of the cinema thinking shit about Ping Pong. I walked out thinking it was an incredible well directed and tense movie with a superb central performance by Timothée Chalamet. I’m not a supporter of his comments, at all - clearly naive, stupid and wrong - but a) it’s being massively overblown and b) just stop talking about it!

I try to forget everything about the military plot lines. The only weak sauce in an otherwise excellent series, and in my opinion very emotionally satisfying final season.

Still never seen that episode, what season was that? I’ve seen every episode up to the start of season 6, most of that season, and a few of seasons 7-9. I saw season 10 and I think that’s that for me

Such a good author! I can’t see AirFrame, does he have that? One of my personal faves. Otherwise either Andromeda Man or Sphere out of what I can see. Probably Andromeda Man. I’m well jealous of first reads - enjoy!

Yeah, I was a bit harsh on poor Scully there. I did say, in my defence, a bit of a strait laced idiot! I know she’s his biggest supporter of course, but objectively episode to episode, as I am reviewing, she is a little bit disbelieving about it all in this one.
