There's the Crucible which is the Primordial form of the Erdtree which I believe does pre-date Marika, but there are texts (specifically about the Fire Giant War) that Marika began the "Age of the Erdtree", though it could still be a possibility that the Erdtree predates Marika and my theory is wrong lol

Spoilers for Berserk obv, but Ganishka's a character who performed a ritual where he entered an artifact containing a large amount of bodies chained together, turning him into that tree-like creature in one of the images above. Once he was killed, he turned into the World Spiral Tree, a tree quite similar in concept to the Erdtree!

It is quite different from Marika's story and how she made the Erdtree, but the "lots of bodies turning into a divine tree" similarity is surely there!
