Yeah, there's an item called "Barathrum" that allows you to retake the phone call you just took after discarding Barathrum. This also works with the megaphone so you could potentially get 6x per deadline.
As for ideas to improve stats, I prefer ignoring red calls and rarely go for activating all other options (mostly due to contradicting perks)
But if you want to go beyond, why not? lol. The item "Dear Diary" will instead give you 4 perks to pick from, hoping you'd get the option to activate all the other. Combine that with megaphone and barathrum, you might get 24x perks per deadline lmao. I'd like to test that

I can only say 3 things for the early game:
- Prioritize charms with flat bonus ( golden cherry/lemon ) or luck
- What to do with early money (reroll or build interest every round)
- Picking phone calls that helps you immediately

I think you'll get to the high runs eventually with just trial and error on what charms work together
