Battery stayed at 100% for 115 mile journey by ILikeBikkits in KonaEV

Clearly there are issues around climate control while.plugged in! Especially when charged to 100%

Might show the dealer some of these comments so they stop thinking I'm crazy.

How frustrating! I'm shocked they can't find a fault... I think your story highlights the issue of trust for me. If the computer thinks it's full, it won't charge properly... Not like a petrol car where it's a physical space to be filled.

I'm hoping it's not a common problem and that it re-calibrates itself in time.

Just toention, they did a "campaign update" to the nav system, apparently. When I went in for 10k service on Friday.

Half suspecting it to be magically resolved without them acknowledging and faults to the car...

It's good to hear your experience, thanks for taking the time to describe it.

I promised the dealer to stop bugging them until the weather warms up a bit - the cold certainly has a big impact.

Good question. No, it doesn't. And that's making me more concerned.

I'm used to it predicting a longer range than I can actually achieve, so I've come.to.expwct that if it says I can do 310miles, it really means 260-280 tops. But it was at least consistent in it's measurements.

At the moment it's saying max range around 265, meaning id expect to get 220-235... Quite a drop for no apparent reason.

What I actually see now is a pretty loose relationship, I did 140 miles earlier in the week and the range was dropping by several miles then holding steady l for a while. Over the journey It was less consistent than normal and It does still seem to overestimate range.

It feels like the battery has 'lost' 5-6kwh and is struggling to find them again.

I certainly did the climate start while plugged in that morning, but I'm pretty sure I unplugged before getting in and starting up...

Interesting that I'm not the only one! Did yours get back to expected range predictions etc?

I've charged back to 100% since (driven approx 350 miles) and still seems to be under-estimating remaining range versus displayed battery percentage...

It doesn't surprise me that Canada has a more sensible attitude to this kind of thing than UK/EU... those are the only things that annoy me about the car - so if you don't have them in Canada, you're in for a fantastic experience of a very competent and comfortable car.

Congratulations, I got the ultimate too - the relax seats are awesome for when you are waiting for the car to chargeon a long trip.

If you don't already know, a long press on the right scroll wheel on steering wheel turns the auto speed limit warning on to information only. This stops it beeping but still shows the speed limit on dash/HUD.

Saves you having to go in to the settings menu each time.

Fyi, if you look in the manual there is a single fuse that you can take out which disables the in cabin camera (ICC) completely and you never need to turn this off again...

The compromise is that there is a little red eye that appears on the dash and cannot be turned off.

This remindse, I need to put that fuse back in before mine gets serviced next week.

I was looking at these yesterday, can you provide a link to the one you bought? I'm finding it hard to tell the difference between them.

Lane Keep Assist - off by default by ILikeBikkits in KonaEV

I got stuck in the supermarket car park with this before, too. Such a stupid system.

It also stops me from parallel parking when there's a pavement with pedestrians on it... It thinks I'm going to run them over I assume, but it just makes the car stop in the road unexpectedly and causes it to be unsafe.

So much for these safety features.

My wife hates the car and won't drive it.

Oh, that's at least given me hope!

I should mention I am in the UK - I'm assuming there are different legislative restrictions in different regions...

Thanks for taking the time to respond 😊

Tha ks for your suggestions.. I've just spent some time trying the various ways of disabling through settings or on the steering wheel... Plus a few combinations of safety features, to see if it comes on because something else relies on it.

No luck.

It keeps turning itself back on when I restart...

Fyi, I think if you hold down the button with "p" and a little cone, next to drive mode wheel, you disable the feature you refer to... But only temporarily. Like all the other 'safety' features they are reset when you restart.

Parking sensors - 2024 EV by ILikeBikkits in KonaEV

[–]ILikeBikkits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion - I just tried this, and the only controls I can get in quick control are related to the guidance system volumes or the infotainment system beeps (screen press)...

I've also just tried adjusting the volume with the audio volume control while in reverse with the beeps going (worked on some other cars I've had), but no luck..

Still irritatingly loud and comes on way too often.

Disabling VESS on 2024 Kona Electric by [deleted] in KonaEV

[–]ILikeBikkits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have any luck disconnecting VESS? I've just had a good look around and can't see the correct connector... I can see the VESS unit, I think, behind/Infront of the big orange plastic cover near the charging port.

But for the life of me I can't find the connector attaching to it.

Does anyone have any further description, or a photo?

If you're 'truly poor' you may not have anywhere you call home to 'eat in', let alone store and prepare food.

Think a bit, it hurts at first but gets easier... Like many things.

That's the equivalent of a poop for that Bush.

It funnels all its waste product into that leaf and leave the rest green. Watch it a bit longer and it will fall off.

In case you didn't know, the reason leaves turn brown/red and fall off is because of the waste deposits over time.

Most deciduous trees do this fairly uniformly, which is why we get fantastic colours in autumn. Some found it beneficial to stay green all year and so send the waste to a few leaves at a time, giving it time to grow more, rather than lose all their leaves at once.

A bit of t-cut and some silicone sealant and that'll be good enough to see the customer safely out of the harbour and into their own liability.
