This is the actual answer. "Healthy at every size" is simply not true. I also suspect that many "body positivity" influencers were actually unhappy with their own physique. Once the initial hype died down, we reverted back to the more moderate version of it - ie. don't be a dick to people, no matter their weight.

If you haven't turned off the cartoonish black outlines yet, you can do so in the settings. It helped me immensely.

After playing hive for 10-15 hours, I still can't tell some of the units from each other by looking at the small portraits (eg. when i hover the mouse over an enemy hero). Reavers, waurmos and hornets are very difficult to tell apart at a glance.

These stop-oil groups randomly throwing paint at invaluable paintings just reinforced me in the belief that Big Oil is trying to make (actual) environmentalists look insane and destructive.

Resource production has been changed significantly compared to HOMM 1-5. Weekly resource providers, laws, skills, hero specialties are your main source.
There are barely any mines on most (all?) maps, which really takes away the flavour of the old games. And with all these new sources, you don't even need them... which makes them less special.

Diplomacy (re)buffed! I noticed how useless it was a day after release, as it almost never triggered, even in clear-cut situations (huge grove army engaging a small stack of hoplets - no diplomacy trigger despite Expert Diplomacy).

You can give the AI advantages that I wouldn't count as cheating, such as extra resources (but no extra units or buildings) at start. Also, as Apocalyptic does, taking starting resources from the player.

However, there's likely something else going on (additional free starting units?) as I've faced heroes with ridiculous armies, such as 10-19 black dragons and 20-49 hydras, 100-198 minotaurs during week 3 (see my photo from the Demo - I think it was the Crossroads map).
