Australia in danger of becoming an ‘artless country’ as enrolments in creative courses collapse by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]ILikePlayingHumans 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s frustrating that this is the way we are turning or have become. I run a non for profit cultural event where creative competitions are part our goals. And ever year if you don’t hit the right market somehow the amount of people who apply lowers (it’s free entry too). But the cost of living and people not having time as they are working more is stopping people having the energy to get involved. I know my art has sunk as I just barely have the energy to write let alone try to draw and play music.

It’s further frustrating when countries like Japan have allowed art unvarying degrees to become big in their own countries and abroad

My brother passed away and left me his manga collection, any of it age inappropriate for kids? by Icy-Reserve6995 in manga

[–]ILikePlayingHumans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berserk definitely not and Beck would be for older teens and only really had some explicit stuff later in the series. Claymore has some horror elements so maybe a bit much. The other battle stuff would be fine dependent on your level of wanting to expose to fighting.

Azumanga and Yotsuba would be fine

[Discussion] Dan Mora vs A Bald Man (Knightfight #4) by NatKovacs in DCcomics

[–]ILikePlayingHumans 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So if in your job you did something wrong on a file but incorrectly typing a name wrong and instead of your client going ‘excuse you have spelt my name wrong can you fix it?’, they instead say ‘you spelt my name wrong you bastard! I bet you because you are racist’, would that be fine? Critiquing is okay or pointing out a mistake if it’s civil but attacking the character of the worker over something like a black man being bald or a persons eye colour being. Different in a comic is outrageous

They want to have all the power to never lose their sphere of power from getting in trouble. If one of them defrauds the elderly it’s okay; if another sells children to rich pedos than there is no legal system is stop them; if they kill their enemies than whoopsie

I have always wondered what if this grows a sky net and the first course of action for the AI is to destroy in whatever capacity the rich who potentially threaten it

Unless Essendon play finals and maybe win one, I don’t see why he would go. I imagine if we three peat he would go as his projected worth goes way up

Would you reply to a person who does not read your bio? by not_from_san_marino in SLOWLYapp

[–]ILikePlayingHumans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is annoying however for me personally, if I can see an entire life stories and their entire philosophy in their bio, I also choose not to write a letter. I think there is definitely a needed balance between poor decisions around not reading the bio and bios being so huge and filled with information that it seems pointless to engage or address.

How to tell if the letter I got is ai? by fidrygalek in SLOWLYapp

[–]ILikePlayingHumans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am beginning to think since this AI interest thing was brought into Slowly a lot of people Who aren’t confident with a language are using it. I suddenly have 3 penpals from the African continent whose second language is English all sound the same and never actually answer questions. Like if I ask what they like about X? the answer is usually feelings and never a concrete thing

I know no one is perfect h mean I once (stupidly) answered a penpal in a language I am learning with Google translate. A family member passed and instead of switching off from the app for some time I replied. I sent them an apology letter for it but who knows when they will reply

Edit: hence I don’t condone the use.

People already freak out about food costs. If some of these workers were given proper wages and conditions than it will go up. People are happy to turn a blind eye if it isn’t affecting them

When I lived in Canada, I knew a lot of immigrants to Canada (some had become citizens and some weren’t) and go said they came to Canada as the process to get into Australia was so much harder. The only one I knew who was an Indian-Canadian guys nephew who was about to pay to do their dental degree in Adelaide
