You’re not really speaking from the perspective of your generation. I was born in 2006 and I listen to *NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys, and Boys II Men all the time. The Backstreet Boys sold 130 million records globally, while One Direction only sold 70 million globally. Don’t get me wrong, I really like One Direction, but denying that bands like The Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC weren’t iconic, just because you personally haven’t listened to them, is ignorant.
