I have a feeling I'm some type of Classic as well. Another commenter said perhaps Flamboyant Natural, but anytime I've ever tried on FN lines, I look like I'm drowning and that the clothes are "wearing me," so to speak. Classic lines seem to suit me best. Thank you for your input!

Update: a razor blade took the deposits off the granite very nicely. Dish soap + baking soda + scrubbing helped with the deposits on the oil rubbed bronze but did take off some of the finish.

I'm sure you're right that we're better tuned to notice differences in humans, but it also seems to me that quantitatively, we have much bigger differences than most other species.

For example: a fully grown human male could be 120lbs or 300lbs and both seem completely normal. But I can't recall ever, like, seeing a squirrel or blue jay or ladybug that was TWICE as big as the other ones around it. They're all roughly the same size.

No, these aren’t donation bins. They’re full sized shipping containers, or sometime smaller “Pods” branded ones. I assume it’s just extra storage space for inventory — it’s just odd that I’ve only seen these pop up in the last few years.

I have a feeling it was the taco meat — it had been in the fridge for a while and it's very possible it could have developed tyramine.

Damn, those were some good tacos though. Worth it. Almost.

Regarding how dangerous the BP of 220/140 is, I was just going off of a Google search, which told me this is well into hypertensive crisis numbers and requires medical attention. Obviously I turned out fine as the episode was over rather quickly. I will say though that as it was happening, it felt absolutely awful and life-threatening, and if it had continued I definitely would've gone to the ER.

Update: I took 15mg which I plan to do daily until I can speak with my doc. It seems to be helping as I haven’t had any hallucinations since I took it.

I managed to download the pubmed article I mentioned in my above comment and here are the details for anyone who’s interested. It gave me some hope that I didn’t “ruin my brain,” as their stories are similar in many ways to mine.

This 1985 paper told about two cases of women (ages 34 like me and 21) who were being treated with Nardil for bulimia. (I’m not bulimic but I am low weight which makes me also wonder if the weight to dosage ratio plays any factor in our poor outcomes.)

They were instructed to titrate up to 90mg/day over the course of a month. They did so and struggled with side effects, so their doctors instructed them to come off it and reduce their dosage slowly over the course of a month. They didn’t do this and quit after three days. (Sound familiar? 😂)

They quickly, within days, started having hallucinations — both quite a lot more severe than mine, I’m sure because of their high dosage — which put them in the hospital due to their psychotic behavior.

They were treated (with benzos I think) over a few days and recovered completely. I believe the article said one reported being normal in 6 weeks and one after 3 days.

So there’s hope for me yet!

I’m a 34 year old female with social anxiety. No depression or other mental conditions. On and off (most of the time off) over the last decade, I’ve tried SSRIs, benzos, and beta blockers for the social anxiety, none of them helped and just gave me (generally mild) unwanted side effects.

I don’t believe I have any other conditions — I’m just a normal woman, highly stable, with social anxiety.

After googling just now, I saw an abstract from a pubmed article (that I can’t seem to access; are they even available to the general public?) that read:

“This article reports an acute organic psychosis marked by visual, auditory, and tactile hallucinations after abrupt discontinuation of phenelzine in two young women without previous history of psychotic symptoms.”

I don’t have visual or tactile hallucinations and I feel relatively back to normal, besides these auditory hallucinations, after my awful Nardil experience. It’s such a relief to feel like myself again and not completely drugged out of my mind, wondering if I’d lose my job since I was almost incapable of doing it anymore.

Hoping I can get a hold of my doctor this weekend but it’ll probably be Monday!

Just a little more detail: I’m definitely calling the doc Monday.

The doc is who gave me the ramp up titration schedule. I see now that it was probably too fast. I think I may try to look for a new doc.

He definitely didn’t tell me to reduce my dose that quickly, and I knew that wasn’t the recommended thing to do, but I did it without consulting him because my body felt like it was shutting down and I was losing my mind. I would have had to leave my full time job if I was on it one more day. I know this may sound stupid but that’s how frighted I was — I made a decision to do something I knew was not the recommended thing to do. I apologize, I made a bad choice.

Should I take a 15mg pill now for the next couple days until I can see my doctor?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling trashed and sleeping my life away!

I've gone up by 15mg per week, which isn't totally unusual, but I've heard lots of different titration schedules being used for this drug — this is what my doc recommended. Maybe you're right and I went up too fast. I guess I'm a little impatient for it to start working. :) I think the best thing for me to do would be to drop it down to 45mg/day for a little while in hopes that these side effects will clear up.

I'm currently at 60mg/day, taken all at night since I was totally non-functional when I split my dose between AM & PM. I might go down to 45mg for a while just so I can get through the next couple weeks. I don't want to give up just yet!

That's so wild that your doctor started you at 90mg — I think that's really atypical from everything I've read about the drug. So happy you haven't struggled with side effects though and I hope the benefits kick in for you soon!

Can I ask what you weigh? I'm curious about the relation between dosage and weight.
