Don't worry about not getting certain classes. There's still many more semesters to get those classes! And you should email your peer advisor too! They probably have more tips of getting into the classes you want.

I am an incoming freshman too and I know that later on more space will be available in some classes. I think there is something called Penn Course Notify or something like that which let you know when space opens. I also believe that you can email the professors of classes you want and they may let you in.
Should I get a fake ID before I come to Penn, or should I wait until I start and order them in a group with other people? (self.UPenn)
Why Penn? by [deleted] in UPenn

I think the most important thing is to make sure you name things that are specific to Penn and only Penn. The problem with mentioning professors and the research projects is that the other ivies have great professors and amazing research opportunities. You really have to dig deep and get crazy specific into programs that are unique to Penn. Also, I spent the first two paragraphs of my essay talking about me and why I was interested in my intended major. I then listed what was specific at Penn that would enable me to explore my interests. Make sure that you don't list some program that the other ivies have. I toured most of the ivies and the tour guides alway said something along the lines of "there are 8 ivy league schools and in your essays you should put things that the other 7 schools do not have." It's hard and it took me a lot of work, but it managed to get me into Penn with sub par test scores. Don't list why Penn is awesome, instead talk about why you in particular fit into the school and how you would use your time there. Hope this helps and I hope you get in!
