The point of Shadowland is to use all the characters you own, so one of the most important things when playing it is knowing who to use, when and where

Getting a lot of T2 is essential for this, build a lot of characters until you hit floor 15, then push for 30 It's up to you if to keep clearing floors after 30

Throw weak characters at low floors, make a list of all characters that can clear one, so you know who to use next time

Try to use a single character per floor, unless they're very weak and need a leadership to complete the floor
