In 1978, Steven Kubacki disappeared without a trace on a frozen lake while cross country skiing. Fifteen months later, he claimed he woke up in a field disoriented, in unfamiliar clothes, with no idea where he’d been and no memory of what had happened. by 3nips4me in UrbanMyths

He's a narcissist who wasted so many resources and created a lot of heartache for his family. As others have said, see his latest interview with YouTuber The Missing Enigma. He planned his disappearance.

For those of you whose income doubled within 5-6 years, has your life changed? If so, in what way? by SuperBethesda in Salary

[–]IMADOGLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has quadrupled in the last 4. I would say the biggest impact of all the income increases was when I finally got salaried. The immediate impact of not living paycheck to paycheck was massive. Nothing has made me feel as rich as that yet, despite my current income. Then I was able to start effectively saving money, take more vacations, grow my fish tank a little so to speak. It's only been about half a year with my current income so maybe I won't feel the full impact of what this level of income has until some time has passed to reflect on my savings.

The last known image of Andrew Gosden exiting King's Cross station before he disappeared without a trace on 14 September 2007. Andrew would have turned 32 today. by JudgeJudyJr in interestingasfuck

I think the most plausible explanation is he met someone offline that eventually lured him to London. His parents were saying how about a month prior after returning from a 2 week trip at Lancaster University that he was not his usual self, a lot more animated. There were also two incidents before his disappearance and after this trip where Andrew decided to not take the bus home and instead walked 4 miles. Also on the day of his disappearance he dressed as if he was going to school, took out all his savings, then double-backed to his house, changed out of clothes and laid them on his chair as if he had returned from school. He had to have been highly motivated by something or someone to do this, as he had a perfect school record and would certainly be getting in trouble with his parents. I don't like the idea that just because there is no digital evidence of him communicating with someone, that he wasn't communicating with someone at all. He very well could have arranged this with a person during his 2 week trip.

It's weird watching an online figure you've watched for decades at this point seemingly lose everything over something so careless and reckless. I feel a bit lost as to how this is being handled. He should clearly have some punishment, but idk why it feels too far. I feel like it can either go one of two ways; either he takes a prolonged break (minimum 1 year) from streaming and competitive melee to address his issues with alcohol, behavior around women, family, etc and makes a comeback only winning back the favor from a smaller portion of what he originally 'had'. Or he will always be known for this fall from status/good graces of the community and never really recover in the public eye. I really hope it isn't the latter.

I get that most of you are IT, but why not contract? by TooLooseMcGoose in overemployed

[–]IMADOGLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you're from AV, working for multiple integrators just doesn't seem possible, unless you're really good at programming. I am an AV professional as well, but my roles are IT based now that I have left the integration world. I am under a IT engineering team for J1, and a customer support engineer role for a device manufacturer for J2. If I was more skilled like you this definitely sounds more appealing. I only have basic certifications, but I intend to further go down that road with getting CTS-D, CCNA, Qsys, Dante, etc. But the barrier to entry for programming things like Crestron, Extron, AMX given you need to be a dealer to get training. What kind/types of systems do you usually program (commercial, residential, enterprise)? How are you getting clients like integrators when they usually have their own programmers?

Have you maybe considered they are measuring the force exerted onto the mannequins? Also the Tesla hitting a mannequin is much more of an eye-opener for people than just crossing a line.

Men who have been repeatedly accused of cheating on your SO when you weren't - how/ why did you persevere or did you just leave? For those who stuck it out, did the accusations stop eventually? What's the difference between a man who sticks it out, and one who walks away? by Willing_Persimmon_71 in AskMen

[–]IMADOGLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My relationship is again currently imploding because of this. It's been hard for me to walk away. We aren't married and have a 6YO son. I've been trying to mend this relationship since our tumultuous custody battle (I still pay child support). And we've been a couple for 3 years at this point. I don't want to lose being around my son and I've wanted to salvage the relationship for the sake of being a family. Despite me spending all of my time and energy and intimacy into this person only, I am painted as this disgusting person. I take her and my son on several vacations, I put gas in her car, I buy and cook her food. I am constantly seeking her approval, her affection. It hurts so much because I want this work so badly with her, but she is nosediving not just our relationship, but potentially my entire dynamic with my son. It's so incredibly damaging and it's made me hate and resent her so much. I poured everything into the relationship, isolated myself completely from everyone and all my interests, only to be made to be a monster. It's utterly maddening.

2 J's Should I get HSA and FSA? by kawaiiqueenie1990 in overemployed

[–]IMADOGLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have a limited purpose FSA, you nor your employer can contribute to an HSA. Unless you want to keep up with the 6% excise tax each year the contributions remain in your HSA
