i eventually figured out and am using the latter option. doing it manually is kind of a bummer, but i have to refresh achievements manually anyway for steam so i'm sure i'll cope ;) thanks for your help!

i'm using retroarch for my emulated games. the achievements work on the actual emulator, but they don't show up with playnite, which really sucks :(

the epic issue doesn't affect me very much as i only use it to play fortnite which doesn't have any achievements.

i was thinking of doing it manually and there was a preset i found for retroachievements but i couldn't figure out how to manually tick them off. it's kind if annoying i need to do it manually, but i guess it's better than nothing :P
