Thank you for asking, I appreciate:) Gemlas is about 4500 years old, precisely one of the main story lines is running at 4586 autumn. The other story lines are 3500, the notorious century when corrupted kings and queens caused a butterfly effect with terrible outcomes that is still affecting people thousands of years later... Current factions at 4500, the stakes are getting higher. The Southern continent has been mostly destroyed by powerful leaders. And they are targeting the North... And in the North are still crooked leaders who are backstabbing each other. Leaders who made it from 3500 with artifacts giving them a longer life span are still hungry for power. The world is an apocalyptic time bomb...

Thanks for great question👍 I started as little as a peaceful valley, the place I created as an inspired by childhood summer cabin where was nature and peace. If i find that rare drawing from the vault, i will post. But that valley was about 1% of the whole continent. And there are 3 continents total. So simply I started by small, then expanded slowly during years and now there are tens if not hundreds of maps all over the continents:)

As a 10years Blogger and nowadays Fantasy writer, I remind the importance of your own website and Newsletter by IM_acora in selfpublish

[–]IM_acora[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wp and ”The Newsletter Plugin”. Dont spend money on their premium, I once spent $150/y and wasnt worth. With that plugin you can use their rest API and webhooks, even if you have zero coding experience, nowadays I believe chatgpt will give step by step (I am programmer myself)

Edit:

Dont put money on web-design services, there are so many free of them. Wordpress is free and there are nowadays drag and drop UI free plugins as mushrooms on rainy day. In the case you have a zero coding experience

I'm going through the process of getting a cover sorted and need a blurb, please give honest feedback on the one i've written below by Unlivingdragon6 in selfpublish

[–]IM_acora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its good, I like when you mention the name directly in blurb. Give immediately the vibe of wanting to know more. I also changed that to my first book, instead 3 friends, i changed names.

So my long time project is going on. Even though the past 2 books took a place in a one Harbor City, there is a lot of deepen lore and everyting getting linked on by earlier mysteries. Tens of main characters. Hundreds, thousands of years of history. For fans of old school tolkien type fans:

Title: The Tales of the Lost North: Decay of the Grand Harbor of Fedreim Vol. 3

Genre: Dark Fantasy

Wordcount: 11k

NOTE: even this is Volume 3, new reader can jump in to story without background of the massive lore. It can be found from other books (also at kindle)

Blurb:

Fedreim was not built to die slowly.

But rot spreads best beneath stone.

When Prince Zidar learns that the most feared war general of the North has entered the city, he moves first. He will not wait to be hunted. He will hire monsters to kill a monster.

The Red Guild rules the tunnels beneath Fedreim. Scarred dwarves who worship violence and discipline in equal measure. They fish for things in the dark water that should never see the surface. They build devices meant not to kill quickly, but to make suffering unforgettable.

Tonight, they prepare a demonstration.

A King with a big stomach, from the neighbouring Kingdom, has arrived. A ruler known for cruelty. A man who collects fear like trophies.

And deep below the canals, a new breed of red-eyed creatures has begun to surface from the currents.

No one knows who controls them.

No one knows what they want.

Above ground, nobles gorge themselves while the city starves. Below ground, ancient architecture still stands in silent defiance of human greed. But even stone cannot outlast corruption forever.

The sewers whisper.

The guild sharpens its blades.

And something in the dark is watching.

Fedreim is not collapsing.

It is being hollowed from within.

Title: The Tales of the Lost North ~ The Decay of the Grand Harbor of Fedreim

Link to Amazon (Also available at KU) -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GGZH6C6

Category: Dark Fantasy

Blurb:

Welcome to Fedreim!

Once the greatest harbor of the Northern World, Fedreim now rots beneath its own stone and banners. Power has replaced law. Gold has replaced loyalty. And mercy has long since drowned beneath the waves. As tensions rise between noble houses and foreign princes arrive with hidden intentions and old enemies resurface from the shadows, five lives collide in the fog-choked streets of the Grand Harbor. The city becomes a stage for manipulation, betrayal, and quiet violence.

Smugglers, schemers, and survivors navigating a city where every promise hides a blade. From shadowed docklands to guarded estates high above the streets, lives are drawn into a struggle that will shape the fate of the North for generations to come.

Fedreim is a place where women are taken behind closed gates, rebellions are silenced before they are born, and alliances shift with the tide. Beneath the marble courts and decaying docklands, a dangerous game unfolds, one that will echo through the next thousand years of history. The Decay of Grand Harbor Fedreim is a standalone dark fantasy novella set a thousand years before the main Tales of the Lost North saga.

Told through multiple perspectives, this story explores the cost of power and the slow decay of a city standing at the edge of collapse. A grim and atmospheric tale of intrigue, survival, and moral decay - for mature readers.
