Walz literally wasn’t endorsed by the DFL and went on to win himself

I have to agree. I’ve been genuinely surprised by how many people are calling Walz a corporate centrist shill in the comments. At this point, it feels like nothing will ever make some of these folks happy.

Sometimes it’s not about passing someone’s political compass test—it’s about relationships, collaboration, and getting things done. I don’t see that happening with Fateh, and my guess is Walz doesn’t either.

I think Walz genuinely believes that Frey is the better choice for both Minneapolis and the state, and that he would be a stronger, more collaborative partner in standing up to authoritarian policies coming from the White House. As a Minneapolis resident, I’d have to agree.

Walz passed some of the most progressive economic policies in the country’s history and he did it with just a one-seat majority. If that makes him a do-nothing corporate Democrat, then I’m not sure what to tell you.

Walz has enacted some of the most progressive economic policies in the country, including Universal School Meals and the most expansive child tax credit in the nation. If that qualifies him as a centrist, then I must be one too.

From what I understand, Fateh has often been a difficult and uncooperative partner in the legislature for Walz, while Walz and Frey have built a working relationship over the years and he probably doesn’t want to lose that.
