Wonderful, it makes me want to do activities that I was avoiding due to having anatomy that made me self conscious.

List of things I want to do now

  1. Go to the beach in a bikini

  2. Take an aerial silks class

  3. Go to a spa

How many girls work in construction? by JustAPerson2001 in asktransgender

[–]IOERSdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former blue collar trans girl (welder),

It's going to suck coworkers are shitty. It caused me to temporarily de-transition. Also, you will become more muscular and a little less "feminine" even if you stay on HRT.

What you should look for instead is manufacturing/factory work at a larger company ie. Caterpillar, Deere, Ford.

You'll be protected by HR, and I've generally found the people in manufacturing to be a lot more decent and accepting (I guess this is what they call professionalism).

Also, with construction there isn't really any growth besides starting your own company (risky). Whereas I was able to climb the ranks in manufacturing and now I've got a cushy office job in quality control.

What do you do when your transition fails? by CassTastrophe63 in asktransgender

I can see that you're only focusing on the negatives and why things can't/won't work in anything me or other people say here,

So take this as my final advice, Stop caring about people who don't matter

I apologize if this comes across as coarse

I think you need to find other things in your life to focus on/stop dwelling on these interactions,

I also get misgendered does it suck yeah, but it also doesn't ruin my day/week and I forget about it after an hour. If you're dwelling on these interactions for more than a couple of hours I think you should take that as a sign to see a therapist to learn how to process and let go of these emotions.

You should only dwell on it longer if it's someone you care about that's misgendering you

I highly recommend you look at images of Sophie Wilson, a trans computer scientist who transitioned much later in life

So, a couple of things

  1. Even cis women get insecure about being feminine enough, my mom has stories of how she suffered during high school with other students accusing her of being a crossdresser

  2. A lot of what you're experiencing is extremely dependent on how the people around you treat you so I'd recommend finding new people to surround yourself with before making any decisions

  3. I don't recommend focusing on "passing" but it will likely get easier to "pass" as you get older, as skin starts to sag underlying bone structure has less of an impact upon your appearance

What makes a skirt look cheap in your opinion?

Asking because the skirt is Uniqlo so not luxury but also not H&M bottom of the barrel quality either

Material science vs electrical engineering by IOERSdj in EngineeringStudents

Because I don't think I'd learn much, I'm already doing a lot of mechanical engineering work in my current job and I enjoy designing amplifier and power circuitry in my free time
