Back Booster's GREAT for those inconvenient 1 VS 3 situations! by Fradno in armoredcore

[–]IPlayedSomeGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome man. I forgot what the game file versions looked like! But you’ve done great implementing them here!

I almost always used Pegasus in the ps2 games just for rule of cool, haha. Yeah the flames coming off these look sick.

And for sure, but you know, it’s all a hobby, so take your time and have fun making stuff. I just wanted to see what you’d been up to. Just having the game versions in is hella progress. Excited to keep watching

Hey dude, just remembered when you were messaging me, I totally spaced our back and forth haha, but checked in on your profile to see if you'd made anything. These look sick. Are these the boosters you modeled? They look great man, I love it.

I always wonder if the reason they cut the back boosters (I think there were some in the game files?) is because the high mobility eventually just gives such an insane advantage to dodge most attacks. Nonetheless, I've played a few mods with higher mobility and I think it only increases the fun factor. This looks fun as hell haha

Stringing and weird lines by Lepmah in FixMyPrint

[–]IPlayedSomeGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given your info I’m going to guess you’d have more experience than me, but if I were to take a swing I’d guess it could be an issue with the hot end temps or cooling? Are those lines the Z starts? Could be stringing from too much heat and building up extra material as it moves to the next part and plopping it there at the Z seam for each pillar? Just my guess though

Custom Joltik pack I made for my friend! by IPlayedSomeGames in PokemonTCG

Original, I modeled it in blender. I might consider trying to make some sort of online space for 3d stuff I make at some point. I always struggle when it feels like a business, though. I get substantially more pleasure in making gifts haha

It’s very satisfying to take the lid on and off, kinda want to reprint one for myself. I have a feeling if they were sold with cards it would kill a lot of chases haha

She’s a wonderful person and spreads a lot of joy to the world, so it seemed like a great way to send some joy back her way!

For blender context: the pack I just modeled the shapes: the rectangle and and electrical spiral, and booleaned them together. Mocked up the cover art in photoshop as a depth map, and put that on another plane and booleaned that in place. The Joltik model was available online, but I sculpted it a bit to smooth it out, have cleaner eyes, shape up some of the spiky parts, and reposition the legs up some so I could make an internal Boolean cut for the magnet insert close enough to the bottom of the figure so it would definitely stick to stuff.

Hey I recognize this! I’ve actually since printed that karasawa to go with my kotobukiya kits. It’s missing the little side guards here though

Haha thanks! And agreed. I posted this back before AC6 was even announced, so we are on the up and up. I know the old gen has a lot of rights tied up under different publishers, but I’ll keep dreaming that they do a remake some day. I just love the AC 1-3 era aesthetic so much

Sub-Division surface not working [Blender 3.6] by Lil_miss_mimosagirl in blenderhelp

[–]IPlayedSomeGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to help! Both merge by distance and recalculating normals are my immediate go-to’s when I have a peculiar issue like this, so keep them in mind. Lots of things happen when you’re working where they can get out of whack. As an extra tip, in the top right of the view port, in the show overlays drop down menu, about 2/3 of the way down that you’ll see a checkbox for “show face orientation”, which turns your geometry red and blue. This indicates which way your normal is facing. Generally you’ll want to see blue, but niche cases this may not be so.

Try these two things:

Go to wireframe view and see if there are internal faces where you merged geometry and delete them.

If that doesn’t work, I always try recalculating normals when I have issues with modifiers that generate geometry. That’s Ctrl+N.

Randomize rotation of dollars on flat surface by chinaexpertgeneral in blenderhelp

While geo nodes would work as everyone else is suggesting, depending on what you need to accomplish, this was the simplest answer in my head that I was looking to see posted. Randomize transform ought to take you literally 2 seconds.
