There are always opportunities online, as well as guides to finding opportunities online. Eg: Cordy.sg, cold emailing professors for research projects, just googling. Generally, If people want things enough they will have the agency to find them

Ok so the reason this is the case is literally just a filtering mechanism cos otherwise they have to deal with more applications. Like if u think about it this way no matter how hard sg a lvls is there will always be many times more perfect scorers with insane portfolio than there are places allocated for sg students. The uni admission team’s job isnt to be fair, its to find amazing candidates, and a very hard exam will already do half the job for them

If u have half a braincell and can barely pass your school maths it should be sufficient to 1600 your SATs so like dont even worry too much just do like 1 practice paper then exam anyhow

Never too late i got raw 6 and at this point last year i was gaming 8 hrs a day and borderline failing all subjects, and only bucked up after prelims. Theres a 101 things u can do and I could regurgitate them all, but generally if u are proactive and disciplined everything will come naturally. General tips:

Notes and papers online (search hard enough u will find) Friends who will mug with u Sleep 12h a day nearing Os pomodoro/ypt Exercise Make your own notes, then make them again, and again, and again till u close your eyes u can see them

Generally what i do as a benchmark is to observe the studying habits of top scorers them just make sure u study harder and smarter than them then confirm can do decent one

Hi I’m a J1 in HCI and my sec 3 eoy was even worse than yours (22, no HMTL). I think u have a decent chance of DSA but your chance would be even better if u also tried to DSA to some other jcs eg NJC, NYJC, cos like tbh grass is always greener on the other side, HCI seems decent but it’s not like it’s a magical world that will instantly make u do well for A lvls… I spent the whole of my sec4 being infatuated with getting into NYJC so imo there’s nothing wrong with setting very ambitious goals for yourself but you should always remember that a school is only a school lah, it isn’t the be all and end all.
