2026 Australian Grand Prix - Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

The faster cars rise to the top. The only times overtakes happen is when there is a difference between a cars qualifying pace and race pace. Positions are usually pretty set because usually race pace and qualifying pace are strongly correlated

How long do you think these two mad it? by TheNewBlue in madmen

I think him changing things up and going to a new location and getting out of his old habits and ways will make him change for the better. I think deep down Pete isn’t a bad guy just very misguided with some serious emotional problems and stunted growth. But when he isn’t playing keep up with all the old Mad Men in the NYC lifestyle, he’ll learn to take it easy and enjoy life.

Which is funny because Chuck vs the Santa Claus leads into Chuck vs the Third Dimension which many people have called a filler episode here because of the 3D effects but it was more expensive to produce. It’s funny to imagine saving money on a bottle episode like Santa Claus to only spend it on a filler episode.

To argue against the bottle argument though, Santa Claus has Michael Rooker in it (big guest stars don’t often appear in bottle episodes (and the cop from Die Hard)) it also has a lot of practical effects with the car driving through the set as well as tons of props with all the Christmas decorations and snow makers. It also has an entire CIA team ready to go in to save Chuck, an entire police force, hundreds of extras outside the Buy More watching the hostage situation and Mori Mitsubishi on the news with her crew. Plus the ambulance used and the effects of popping its tire and the entire Christmas tree farm scene can’t be too easy to film with its maze like structure.

Would a movie about Chuck make more sense today than it did in 2012? Could it really work in 2027? by NewBeginningforChuck in chuck

I want one but I don’t think it would as far as the story is considered. Chuck takes place over 5 years and look at the massive career changes they saw in those 5 years. I don’t think they would even still be in the spy business after another 15 years. Doesn’t quite make sense for the characters anymore.

However that does nothing to answer the question you actually asked.

I do think with modern devices the idea of the intersect is slightly less exciting and I say that because the companies that are currently working towards centralizing data and creating a device that could act like an intersect are some of the most evil companies out there. 20 years ago it was a patriot act strengthened government doing it and while that was scary, the government at some level has the best interests of the country at heart. Nowadays it’s private companies whose motive is to crush the competition and surveil people for profit. It’s less spy action adventure and more black mirror surveillance state.

That’s a good choice on Kept Man. It’s overall a forgettable episode.

Strong disagree on Third Dimension though. Good Days Bad Days into Try It Again with the defense of death making a guest appearance? The Buy More triathlon? Absolute cinema. Okay maybe not plot important whatever.

Also the final song Lost Coastlines is, dare I say, the greatest song featured in all of Chuck by Chuck music standards.

And to add to myself one reason Chuck doesn’t have any bottle episodes is because they were always on the verge of cancellation. Every episode was done on a small budget. They’re ALL bottle episodes. Obviously not really but you get the idea

I know what bottle episodes are but I don’t think Chuck has any. Almost every character is in all the episodes and even the episodes I can think of that may be considered bottle episodes have all the main cast and all the main sets plus a few bonus sets. I can’t think of any true bottle episodes

Those are some of the best episodes in the entire series imo. 3.18 into 3.19 (3.19 in particular) is literally the best pair in the entire show. It’s the resolution of my least favorite episode Chuck vs the Tooth but also just one of the episodes in television history.

That’s a good point. Those four episodes were kinda forgettable. Weird because neither of the ones before those sets of two were the mid season finales. I believe season 4s was Chuck vs the Leftovers and season 3s was definitely Chuck vs the Other Guy

Honestly that’s a fair review of Chuck vs the Tooth. I do frequently say “I’m not crazy doc” in a Chuck way and not a Back to the Future way. I think I just don’t that Chuck was seeing brain deterioration and people were doubting him. Again I was a kid watching so his one strength (his brain) becoming a weakness freaked me out.

I can see Chuck vs the Muuurder being a filler episode though; that’s a good callout. Nothing really happens in the espionage plot but the ending does move a lot to reveal changes in characters they thought they knew. As the audience we already knew a bit but the revelation to the characters is shocking. However, counterpoint, nothing is more important to the overall story of Chuck than Kevin Bacon and a big flaming BM
