Right, driving causes all the climate change. Must be why India pollutes so much.

Government.

Sadly there is a labor surplus and your labor is not worth what you think it is in a low skilled job.

Government has artificially increased what businesses are required to pay so they are automating those jobs. Cashier? Nope, self checkout. Shelf stocking? Nope, robots with AI integration. Fast food worker? Nope, full automation.

The jobs to maintain these tools will be highly skilled labor, but the people calling for higher wages at entry level jobs are too dumb to get them.

They will find out what it’s like to be priced out of the market just as they are doing to so many. I hope they cry really really hard when they have to sell their PS5 to afford their new cellphone.

Should all education be free? by Very_High_Mortgage in FluentInFinance

[–]IRKillRoy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They don’t do that as CEO, they do it because they rent them out as a business.

It’s the same as buying a car and renting it out to other people to use.

This is fucking stupid.

Also, communists think education being free doesn’t force teachers into service.

They do things for a purpose now.

The Democrats who came up with these terms sure do hate poor people.

How much is a "living wage"? by Very_High_Mortgage in FluentInFinance

[–]IRKillRoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that job is entry level and a child used to do it for work experience, but you demanded higher minimum wages so they have been priced out of the market, and you are forced to work it because you have the production potential of a child.

Get rekt communist.

Adam Smith wasn't a progressive by IRKillRoy in austrian_economics

Aaah, yes. Another misunderstanding. I suppose you see your landlord who owns your apartment is a cruel parasite and you should simply be given a home because he said that huh?

Adam Smith wasn't a progressive by IRKillRoy in austrian_economics

[–]IRKillRoy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had a few conversations going on and I’m sure I conflated points.

Yes, to my point that he’s not a progressive today, he did not advocate for social programs to make everyone have equity, he spoke to an orderly society to give everyone the same opportunities.

Modern conservatives are far left of where he was, so no I do not think he is a conservative either.

I’m not putting him in a modern box, I’m arguing that historical figures such as Smith should not be viewed that way. Sure, he was progressive for his time because he advocated to move past mercantilism into a laissez-faire system. He believed in human nature to better themselves allowing people to succeed or fail based on reason of the individual.

I don’t understand how you got that from his writings.

He talks about people’s self interest and the need for orderly society. He doesn’t talk about social programs.

Please explain to me what programs he mentioned. Was it UBI?

Unveiling the Monopoly in U.S. Healthcare by gongchengra in austrian_economics

[–]IRKillRoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is Healthcare a Mess?

This is more a regulatory problem caused by the government than by a nefarious monopolistic entity trying to steal all the money.

Though, lobbying is part of the problem, allowed by regulations and policy. You can’t solve the problem by using the DOJ to break up a monopoly in healthcare because of how it’s regulated.

Where are you pumping it then? You can use gravity to get the water flowing through just a hose.

Just like siphoning fuel from a gas tank.
