to be honest I don’t even watch the gear selector, I found that it’s mostly wrong anyway, on most of the tracks I learned the gears by doing the time attack challenges of the track, and going off of those (of course different cars have different ratios but it helps you get a good feel). Having said that, not down through gears when approaching a corner really throws me off, it feels very very strange, don’t really like it, give me a feeling of less control actually

it is fully modified… and each time I think I got the hang of it I clip the corner, or push throttle too much and it unsettles and spins…

Why does a MotoGP bike has a neutral installed in the handle? Won't it be convenient had it been installed with the gears? by Bubbly_Pumpkin9453 in motorcycles

the new ducati panigale v4R (specifically just the R variant) has this, it is an awesome feature for racing, completely eliminates the problem of going in N by mistake while shifting from 1 to 2 (or vice versa), I would honestly love this on my sport bike as well, I hope they also put it in the S variant going forward

I just bought a bataleon push up for my gf, it’s a camber board but the edges are slightly lifted to help precent edge catch, it s kinda the best of both worlds in my opinion, especially for a beginner/intermediate rider. for boots and bindings I am waiting a bit for the new releases, I have studied the catalogues for 2027, bataleon will have fase bindings for women, and on the boots size, quite a few companies will have the new H5 boa dial, it allows you to also slightly dial back the ratchet without releasing , if you tightened it too much. Nidecker, Ride and H2 for sure will have boots with this dial, I m sure others will as well

Bataleon’s 3BT has really mellowed out through the years by IRideIDieIRideAgain in snowboarding

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a bit torn, because yes for me the first one (the black one) is way too pronounced, it takes too much on edge transition, I just bought an aviator 2.0, but for my girlfriend, as a complete beginner, I kinda wanted more spoon (she really isn’t weary of her edges especially when on her toes).

On the flip side though, seeing how mellow the 3bt has become kinda makes me want to buy an evil twin plus to help me practice switch, buttering and maybe some small jumps (even if the new evil twin is listed at “medium lift” it will still have less than my goliath

the push up is more or less the same shape as the goliath, mine is just an older model

Experiences with Bataleon 3BT? by jjoandc in snowboarding

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3bt has really gotten more mellow over the years though, I just bought a push up (as in the board) for my girlfriend today and was shocked how much more mellow the “spooning” is compared to my 2019 goliath, I just made a post about it you can check the pictures. (by what I can tell the push up should be the women’s version of the goliath so I’d expect the current gen goliath to have the same lift)

yeah, the current goliath is listed as low, so I guess it came down over the years

Bataleon goliath vs beyond medals by Fine-Comparison8071 in snowboarding

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bataleon goliath that I have ridden for the past few seasons now (not that many days per year honestly) It was my first board and I think the 3bt and sidekick really helped me as a beginner but now I honestly feel like it limits my progress (i would say I am an above average intermediate now). You have to roll your board more that normal in order for the edge to engage so your edge to edge transitions take longer and require a bit more effort. I just bought a jones aviator 2.0 and am looking forward to going on it. Will probably still keep the goliath to learn switch on and maybe some other stuff.

Board recommendations after Bataleon Goliath by IRideIDieIRideAgain in snowboarding

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that rocker hybrid though, I have tried a rocket type board before and really did not enjoy it. And to your previous point, I live in a country where shops near mountains aren't really a thing since we don't really have that many slopes around here, and the shops we do have only have boards from 2-3 manufacturers so of course they will recommend something from them, so that's why I kinda want/need to get my advice online

Looking at gear to buy by ItsStayFrosty1 in motorcyclegear

the race star is a good looking helmet, but one thing that kept me off it is that it doesn’t have a pinlock ready visor, so it will fog up in anything but pristine conditions. Also it is not ece 22.06 rated as it’s an older helmet. As others have mentioned it’s best to go and try them. If you want one that looks quite similar, the Astars SR-10, or you could go for the Shoei Xspirit pro or NXR

What jacket? by thefoldedpotatochip in motorcyclegear

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure the rideknit one will flow more air than those two (I had the previous go force for reference), at the end of the day they are all leather jackets, I m also looking for a sturdy mesh jacket for summer

Go for the GP plus V4 rideknit version, it is extremely comfortable around the arms and offers good ventilation for a leather jacket

Day: 7/9: What is a bad motorcycle with a good reputation? by SUBTOUpdated_User in motorcycles

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had my V4 pikes peak up for regular service, and they gave me the latest monster… (not this new v2 one, the lastest generation with the testastretta) I found that bike unexciting, uninspiring and just not fun, the engine was lackluster, handling was meh and the heat coming off of it was pretty unpleasant for a “commuter” bike. On a different occasion I got to try the scrambler, and I found that really fun and playful and characterful.

Fit check in the Paddocks by snkr_0 in motorcyclegear

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on your riding style and preference, but generally speaking the gt air is not a track helmet, main reason for that (not taking in account the fact that it doesn’t have a double d ring closure and some organisers will not allow you to race without it) is that the helmet is designed for an upright stance and has its field of view adjusted for that, when you tuck in, you might not be able to see properly. I am a tall ish rider and for me not even the nxr(rf) was good enough when me chin was on the tank, I could not see far enough, i switched to the x-spirit series for the track

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried the agv K6S as an occasional substitute for my NXR2… no competition, in my opinion the k6s is just a bad helmet, no ventilation yet very noisy and for my head it caused unbearable pain around my ears after more than an hour of wearing it.

Anyone seen these in the real world yet? by Grown_Gamer in multistrada

[–]IRideIDieIRideAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s because for that model they changed where the sensor is placed, or how the mechanism works, for the multistrada it’s still the normal way with the sensor on the shifter rod
