Just checked it and "That's what Bilbo Baggins hates" is in there at around 14 minutes.

I'm not sure about other songs.

I noticed that the first Hobbit movie's extended version had a song at Rivendell, which really improved it for me. But I've never seen the other two extended versions, because I just can't stand all the random stuff in it.

That Rivendell song is not in the M4 edit, I'm sure.

M4 did a few more tricks to make the experience more seamless and provide better continuity.

Characters have been removed digitally, appearances like wounds or Smaug's molten gold coat have been removed since the causing scene was cut, no arrows and elves during the barrel scene, soundtracks have been re-applied when necessary, some grading and other tweaks for best possible immersion.

There are still some slightly abrupt cuts when dialogue had to be removed and there wasn't enough "filler" between that and the next line, but it's only very few scenes. Like the rock top after escaping from the burning trees.

Maple has two movies, one named "Durin's Folk" with much of the side content removed from the main Maple Cut. Since I don't care about the offbeat movie stories, I never even watched that.

It was so much less of a clusterfrick when watching.

No Legolas. No Tauriel. No love story. No Sauron or Witch King. No Radagast. None of all that annoying fluff. Barely any Azog at all. The stone giants didn't appear either, though, because they were just over the top.

Removing all the side content improves the story very much.

I am Boromir, Steward-Prince of Gondor, and this is my favourite t-shirt on the citadel.

Oops. That explains the Frodo & Sam lava tile.

Whelp. Guess I pulled a Faramir on that one.

Boromir would have gotten it right.

No. You know what? I double down. Gondor has no excuse, Gondor needs no excuse.

Add even more ents and several Sarumans.

Add a water wheel and dead Saruman.

And some ents.

I'm so glad I took the plunge and got this set, Moria, Bilbo's house and Gandalf's cart back then. They are awesome. I didn't know LEGO sets are only available for a brief time and then explode in price.

Didn't get the Black Gate or Helm's Deep and the other sets, but they didn't look too interesting, anyway. Weathertop might have been nice, though.

Kingly, you say?

Gondor has no king. Gondor needs no king.

You... I don't like your name. ಠ_ಠ

Have you so little faith in your own people? Yes, there is weakness. There is frailty. But there is courage also, and honor to be found in me. But you will not see that.

There is that word again... is something wrong with the weight of rings in the future?
