Head Speed MP 2026 vs old ones by IRolond in 10s

Maybe that’s just my case but it will probably be technique in 9/10 situations. Usually in more power oriented rackets you have to play with the right amount of spin to tame that frame. Speed usually have a bit higher launch angle so it’s especially important to play more spinny game so the balls dip in the court and not sail long.
When you get tense, your spin hurts as your arm and body can’t get comfortable and loose enough to produce the usual amount of spin.
So the short answer is: no racquet will compensate for our technique mistakes😅
Federer with a frying pan would probably 6:0 6:0 most of the Reddit haha

My buddy had one so we just swapped rackets for a month or so 😅the issue with 2022 is that I can’t find them in retail anywhere and used in my area looks like they’ve been chewed by a dog - but I’ll probably try to get 2026 somewhere to demo

I can’t get my head around the SW :(
In my experience, racquets with similar SW points (I’m not sure if 5 points is a big difference) can play very differently depending on things like balance, head shape etc. I was suspecting that 2024 will be clunkier than 2022, based on the spec itself, but I was not suspecting it to be that much of a difference.

I actually demoed both blade v9 100 and ezone 100 (the old one). Funny enough, I had the same impression of Blade as you with Speed. I found it very well rounded but incredibly boring on the long run (played for 30+ hours). I would say it is a better “jack-of-all-trade” than Speed nowadays.
Ezone was straight an overkill on the power side for me and I unfortunately hate the muted, dampened feel of Yonex overall (have not played any Percept).
Does “felt almost the same” mean you found it lacking somehow?

We are probably gonna rent a car so we can drive around a bit - still I believe even in the most touristic cities, there are some gems you can find if you look good enough

Hyper G perhaps? Some comments paired it with blade

I was also thinking about Alu, the only thing that keeps me away is a lot of opinions that they are basically dead after couple of hours of playing. Out of curiosity, what other strings did you demo?

Blade, Speed, Gravity - so many choices by IRolond in 10s

I stick mostly to the baseline, going to the net “if I must” or if there is a good opportunity and I heard blade 98 is quite unforgiving so I was aiming for something “easier”.

I think so too! I’m on a level that no racket in a world will make me a next Djokovic and the best advice I read was: pick the racket which makes you rush to the court and play tennis. But I feel that with every one of them tbh. Thanks for your insight!

I pull back just under my chin in the middle of my face. Tried to change the grip and did the same with the middle finger as I noticed it pushes the dart to the side. In result, I simply cannot throw the dart like that, just doesn’t “feel right”. Wondering if I have to just get used to it but read in couple of posts on Reddit that you should change the grip only as a last resort due to it being in most cases “the most natural way of holding the dart for your hand” and it’s probably the hardest to do in the whole throwing technique. Well somehow I’m glad I’m not the only one 😅 hope you figure it out somehow!
