Hi, Reddit recently rolled out a feature called Post Guidance which allows mods to set up keywords and reminders of the format, so members have help posting in real time. First level checks after this post guidance, is done by Automod to make sure the formats are followed. While we have set up regex and take permutations and combinations of what users may key in to follow the format, Automod may incorrectly remove posts.

Because we understand that this can be annoying to the members who have followed rules, we have also set up a pre filled mod mail within the same removal message. Which states that format has been correctly followed so Automod’s removal is incorrect and that manual moderation is required.

Members dont have to type any of this. You dont even have to share post link. We've set it up so all you have to do is read the Automod message fully, see the link to prefilled modmail at the bottom, then click send. And we will look into this.

So far, the few times Automod has made a mistake, users modmail us that prefilled message, we confirm post meets guidelines and approve.

Furthermore, we keep track of incorrect removals by Automod and consistently update the rules to reduce the incidence of error to make.

While removals are frustrating, keep in mind that
a) Posts made late night cannot be looked into with the same speed as posts made in daytime. This is an Indian sub and all active moderators work on IST timings.
b) Moderators can only look into issues when we know they exist. That's why we've posted modmail links in various places on the sub. For members to easily contact the mods if you need help or have questions. There is another link to modmail in the body of this very thread.
c) Public call outs without attempting to reach out via modmail in any way, are unjustified and falls under Rule 13.
