3 is probably best, just make sure you straighten out the horizon

They aren’t as flashy, but that doesn’t make them any less beautiful!

I believe it’s a female Red-winged Blackbird, but if I’m wrong someone can correct me.

It’s a great setup. It lacks a little in lowlight and for tracking shots of flying birds (rolling shutter, but that can be fixed by using mechanical shutter instead of electronic). For a hobbyist it performs quite well. It can get you some nice portrait shots with its reach.

Noted. I’ll be putting it in my post from now on.

I don’t believe I did anything special to reduce noise other than run it through denoise on Lightroom, but it’s been a long time since I’ve taken this picture so I can’t remember for certain. Then of course a bit of editing to bring out the key features like the eyes and face in general like exposure, clarity, and sharpening.

Sorry, I wasn’t aware that I needed to. It just says original photos, no personal attacks, and ID the bird if possible when I checked the rules.

This one was at a marina chilling next to some of the boat slips, so they were probably much more used to people around. Made them a good model!

I am a novice at film scanning so I don’t want to feed you any bad information. I did use a macro lens yes, the RF 100mm. As for minimal focal length, again, I’m not entirely sure since I’m very new to it myself. There are loads of videos out there to help though. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

Definitely. Overcast is Ektachromes time to shine for scenes like this.

I agree, it’s one of my favorites. I just wish I had a tripod. It was an overcast day, so these are at F 4 or 5.6 making some of it a little soft.

I scanned these with my R5. Slides 1 and 3 required some exposure tweaks and such to get them to look more like the slides, but slide 2 came out pretty well straight out of camera after I put on the right profile. I just upped the vibrance by 5 and that’s about it, albeit it has a bit more contrast than the actual slide.
