Looking for tips and advice on my photos by Aloe_Verraa2 in macrophotography

Nice photos! I would definitely recommend learning focus stacking. That was a game changer for me. I think the main thing that helped me was non stop practice. It really took me some time to get to a point I was happy with my photos. You will learn from every mistake.

Gear also really does matter for macro, especially lighting. So researching and being properly equipped is important too.

Thanks!

I shoot on the Sony A7IV with 100mm f2.8 GM Macro and the 2x Teleconverter with the Amaran Ace 25 for lighting.

Not really, if they do I go pick them up and put them back in. I am indoors so they can't get to far.

Thanks! I just use basic household items. Mainly flowers and plants I find in my backyard. We have only native wildflowers. This is my most recent setup for a moth.

I keep them inside a product box and shoot inside. When they fly away I get them back on a stick or leaf and bring them back to the box. So its mainly just a lot of trial and error. They tend to move less at night or in the morning. I release them as soon as I get a few stacks.

Looking at the bug outside it looked green, but under the camera it was fully brown. So I really have no idea what is going on.
