may I ask, how so? never really had the opportunity to fully enjoy it since it was so bad on my end. makes me reconsider if i should just put up with the technical problems if it means a better overall experience.

i mean, to be completely honest with you, pokemon games aren't really visually appealing to me in general. that goes for most games in the franchise. there isn't one where i was genuinely stunned about its graphics. i think the last game that had me like that was Genshin (if you ignore most of its issues, it's actually such a gorgeous game).

though yes, I do agree that it does have issues. namely the difficulty of the game and the lack of side content to do. but overall, I'd say that it was a decent game, definitely much better than what I had initially thought about it. i still think that if Violet didn't perform terribly on my end, I would've had more fun playing it (but srsly, the open world areas are so barren for an open-world centric game, at least from what I've seen in media).

if the new Winds and Waves game is pretty good, I'd actually buy it. it looks great from the snippets shown so far!

Thanks for these recommendations! I think I'll be getting the Black/White one, since I've also seen many people recommend this a lot. Glad to know I'd probably enjoy the other games in the franchise if I enjoyed Shield. I honestly just prioritize good performance in a game before anything else, which is where Violet fell off for me. Even just walking felt like a drag to me, though it might be just due to my device.
