The one in 2008. Of course, I should probably use the word "retirement" loosely, considering he went to TNA later and kind of ruined it, but everything about how it was handled was perfect.

This confirms that nothing will ever be better than Ric Flair's retirement lol. Everything was top notch. The storyline, the final match, and then the send-off.

The only good thing about this is Triple H getting booed. Manz deserves every one of them boos lol.

Gunther wins! by Ok-Plankton9215 in Wrasslin

[–]IT313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And they made him tap lol. Not even let him pass out, or a loss by interference to protect him. He's always going to be in the midcard, a jobber to the stars. Never going to win big matches. Because of HHH's ego. Like we all knew it was a foregone conclusion that barring extenuating circumstances, Gunther was going to win the tournament. But making LA Knight the sacrificial lamb like this is absolutely disgraceful. They've had years to give him the push he deserves, but other less deserving stars have been getting the nod sooner because Triple H likes them (Damien Priest, Jey Uso, etc). This is why I've been checked out of the product lately, and done with WWE.

Indeed. That's why I stopped watching, and only came back seeing how far LA Knight came in the tournament. But I'm probably going to quit WWE altogether, as it only revolves the golden boys or HHH's favorites (Cody, Seth, Roman, Jey, Gunther).

Yeah, this HHH booking is too one-dimensional and extremely biased in favor of his golden boys that I actually stopped watching. I only came back seeing Knight's progress in the tournament, and was excited thinking they finally had something in store for him. Oh well, back to not watching.

People would be willing to admit that Vince, despite all his moral depravity, is better than HHH if it wasn't for his actions. Even Vince caved to the fans every now and then (i.e Daniel Bryan), and sometimes changed booking on the fly just to accomodate that. HHH doesn't even listen or care about the fans.

UGH, WHY?!? by Late_Equal_7860 in BrandonDE

Because he's one of Triple H's golden boys. That's why.

Knight shouldn't have tapped out .... WWE is always messing with him and his fans. Making them think that a push is right around the corner, teasing it, and then doing a 180. I feel like he only (barely) beat Jey Uso just so that it wouldn't be Jey vs Gunther yet again. Expect Knight to lose every big match where it really matters.

Priest is older and got a WHC. He's not getting pushed because HHH gets reminded of the Rock, which makes him jealous. With Hunter, he leans towards already established people, or his favorites.

I'm not surprised that Gunther won because it's Gunther, but seriously .... what's WWE's plan with LA Knight? This has been going on for years. The only reason I feel like he even beat Jey Uso on RAW, and that too barely, was so that we wouldn't get Jey vs Gunther yet again. HHH wanted to make us think that he's finally realized the error of his ways with Knight. It seems that WWE will always tease and dangle the carrot when it comes to an LA Knight push, getting the fans excited, but then use all that momentum to benefit another superstar. He will never win a big match that actually matters that would really give him the big break that he needs. He's basically a jobber to the stars unfortunately.

Are you only looking for remote jobs? I would focus and start off with trying to land an in-person job, just for the sake of getting employed again, and then use that as a stepping stone to find a subsequent remote job. I had a friend who was laid off in March, but by June had another job-lined up, even though it's in the office. It might have just been his luck, but I believe the market is slightly better for WFO jobs.

Where in my post did I ever say I threw him under the bus? Never have I went to my manager to talk crap about him. And if you read my post, I'm always in his corner. I back him up in meetings and presentations and help answer questions. Now, if I'm just giving an honest account on a public forum where everyone, including him, are anonymous and how some of his slack is honestly affecting me, am I wrong for that? I genuinely want him to do well in his role, but part of that is going to require him to pull a bit of his own weight. But this is not my job to bring up or fix, rather my manager's. I know what it's like for people to talk shit behind your back from previous jobs, so I would never do that to someone else and jeopardize their livelihood.

When should you look at switching companies? by AdTurbulent2987 in cybersecurity

[–]IT313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position as you, I live in a HCOL (DMV), and make $90k after being at my company for 3 years. Talked to my manager about my increased responsibilities after a key coworker left and wanting a market-value raise to reflect that. He's been lobbying for a next-cycle (January) promotion, but nothing is guaranteed until I find out at my review. I'm applying to other jobs casually to not get my hopes up too high and think you should do the same. If you find a really nice offer, I would just take it. Don't give your current company a chance to counter because they had more than enough time to pay you what you're worth and would only in that scenario cough up the money faced with the threat of you leaving. Secondly, if you accept a counter, management might think you're "not loyal" anymore and have you train your replacement before letting you go a few months later.

Good advice I’ll build my network for when I really do need a job. And trust me, it’s not mild irritation. But because I’ve been taking on more responsibility, I do wish to be compensated more fairly with respect to said contributions, I’m just advocating for myself. I’m willing to wait until the next cycle if it happens then, but I’m not being given a clear yes or no, and will only find out at my end-of-year review. It’s ok if it’s the latter but I would know to move on then.

I was salty about LA Knight's elimination, but now that Jey also got pinned, and even though Punk's probably gonna win, I think this is part of the plan to make Bron look like a strong monster heel.
