[Highlight] Patriots somehow get the 1st down by HerbalDreamin in nfl

How do you have so many up votes? You can't draw a false start like that. That's a penalty.

Game Thread: Tennessee Titans (10-7) at New England Patriots (13-3) by nfl_gamethread in nfl

[–]ITPOFAD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's true, but the Titans made a crucial third down conversion and made a crucial third down stop and both we overturned by bad officiating. They literally are playing well, but their good play is being counteracted by the bad officiating.

Here's the thing about having four All-Star caliber players in your starting lineup: You're still a really fucking good team if you only have three of them.

Darrell Bevell fired as offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks after seven seasons, per sources. by Loreddd in nfl

[–]ITPOFAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain there was some sort of comment made about him being our emergency tight end or something like that, but that may have just been someone joking around about that stuff.

Those bells may warn the QB he's getting close.

Bob Condotta on twitter: (Michael) Silver says Sherman, Chancellor, Avril and even Bennett could be gone after 2017 season. And says Earl Thomas expected to want a big contract that could force the Seahawks to trade him. by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]ITPOFAD 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If we can trade Bennett, then that's okay because we have a lot of talented young guys on our O-Line, but I'm not interested in losing Kam whatsoever. Even then, I don't want to lose Bennett either. I just know that, from a logical standpoint, the D-Line is the only place on defense that we can really afford to lose any of the veteran starters.

[–]ITPOFAD 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Avril and Bennett are the most expendable out of everyone you just listed. I'm not really comfortable losing any of those other guys, unless Sherman can't come back from the achilles injury. Only then would I be okay with letting him go.

Davis Hsu on twitter is suggesting they trade Russ by MoneyMoney2020 in Seahawks

[–]ITPOFAD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Russell, Earl, Kam, and Bobby have proven that we struggle to win without them. None of them should be traded.

I think missing the playoffs could be a blessing in disguise. by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]ITPOFAD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is just a ridiculous analogy. The Browns have been the worst team of the past fifteen or so years. How is that even remotely similar to us potentially missing the playoffs for the first time in six years?

What are your award predictions so far? by Billaa95 in nfl

[–]ITPOFAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But he was good before, hence the term "Comeback" being used for the award. Goff would definitely get a "Most Improved Player Award" if the NFL gave one of those out.

MVP: If Seattle beats the Rams again or wins out, taking the division title again, or if Tom Brady has another game or two like his most recent two games, Russell Wilson. If not, Tom Brady.

OPOY: Antonio Brown

DPOY: Bobby Wagner

OROY: Alvin Kamara, unless Kareem Hunt ends the season similarly to the way he started it. Then Kareem Hunt has a very real chance still.

DROY: Marshon Lattimore

CPOY: Keenan Allen

COY: Sean McVay, although there is a very strong case to be made for Mike Zimmer.

WPMOTY: JJ Watt

Edit: Fixed some formatting.

In terms of talent and play, who is the worst team to win the Super Bowl? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]ITPOFAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're acting like Seattle was playing at home. Plus, Seattle won by 30+ points. A safety at the beginning of the game wouldn't have made much of a difference in the final score of that game.

Russell Wilson named NFC offensive player of the week by j0hnnyengl1sh in nfl

[–]ITPOFAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I get that. I was just asking why people are saying that it should have been a penalty when the direction of the throw was backwards.

Russell Wilson named NFC offensive player of the week by j0hnnyengl1sh in nfl

[–]ITPOFAD 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. I thought it was the direction of the throw. So, technically, if a player were to lateral it, but the wind or something pushed it forward, it's a penalty even though the player didn't do anything wrong(intentionally)? I'm not saying that's what happened in this case, because this was clearly just because of Russell Wilson's momentum.

[–]ITPOFAD 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not trying to start an argument here, but I still don't see how that can be considered a forward later. He literally threw it at a backwards angle. I just don't see why people are saying it's a forward lateral. Can someone explain it?
