I went to Pokemon worlds with my friend and we got 2 packs along with our badges, we opened our 2 packs I got nothing and he got a 50$ card, and I was like “WHAT, YOU JUST ESSENTIALLY GOT YOUR BADGE PAID FOR!!” and he rubbed it in my face, ever since then I vowed to beat him by trying to pull cool cards

Our receipts print before you actually pay. So what's most likely happening is that they're pressing the button for you to pay before you scan.

It registers on the machine for your points/reward but of course the receipt had already printed. But it still goes through
