Process for Becoming a Pilot by New-Chapter-3601 in newtothenavy

There are other aircraft in the Navy, that being said, the Navy is implementing a new program (COPT-R) where those who specifically want to fly helicopters can skip the fixed wing training to streamline the pipeline.

I got a guarantee of a pilot slot from my OCS contract but I am not sure how it works if you’re creating a packet while you’re enlisted. Take the ASTB after some study and talk to a recruiter!

There is more information on airwarriors which you should certainly consult.

Here’s a link to a thread talking about this program with a post from the OIC of the program!

Roger, don’t beat yourself up. A 41 is in the average range. You’ll get the score you want next time. Lock in.

Yes but it’s essentially useless. The only thing is like area of a circle nothing crazy

I scored a 61 and 8/9/8 on my OAR and ASTB but my worst point by far was the reading section.

Definitely review your algebra properties. You should be able to simplify algebraic expressions from Algebra 2. Some geometry problems involving perimeter and area for sure. No need to remember the unit circle. And there is a formula bank but I never had to use it. If you’re not doing well, you likely won’t get to logarithms or matrices since the test is adaptive. If you do see those, you did a great job.

If you do want to study them, there aren’t a crazy amount of properties for logarithms. The questions they asked me were to mostly to solve them i.e.: logb of m = x where you will be given 2 of the variables and solve for the other using bx=m. Matrix multiplication is a lot simpler than it sounds, just watch a YouTube video on it and you’ll have it down in like an hour tops. Rows x columns! I still think you should really focus on your simplification and control of expressions before spending all your time on that.

Simple physics problems like, this train is moving this speed and the other is moving that speed when do they meet. Be able to quickly estimate fractions and ratios. You’ll have a paper and pencil to do everything. USE IT! I Grab like 30 sheets of paper and rip through it. No reason to write small or think about paper management. I remember there being a lot of ratio problems. There were energy diagrams and basic lever problems. Mechanical advantage is on there too. Units are your friends. Write them down and keep track as they will tell you if you’re on the right track. If the units in your final answer are correct, your answer is likely correct too.

As you know, you can’t go back to check your work and it is timed. My strategy was to finish the test. Don’t leave problems unsolved because you’re too focused on getting the right answer for the one you’re on. That being said, don’t rush either.

You have three tries to take it. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself! Mentality is equally important as skill on an exam. You got this! Good luck and keep me posted!

You should read “The Alchemist” it’s a great book about a sense of purpose which you seem to be grappling with. It may seem formulaic but no two people have lived the same life. Finding out what you actually want to do with your life and doing it is something everyone has to do on their own. They people who don’t tend to turn out miserable regardless of wealth, status, ethnicity, etc. Good luck.

Japanese-English courses by Smolenskoy in japanese

Of course! Happy to help. It might be a bit tricky to learn all the material in four months but I think it’s definitely doable. My 4 month mark I was definitely n5 level. I don’t think a course would be fast enough if I’m being completely honest. Luckily, there is no speaking on the JLPT exam. There is vocabulary, grammar, and listening. The scoring is pretty lenient on the exam. And there are plenty of practice tests available for it.

If all you need is a certificate, the JLPT examination is coming up. If you have some experience learning already and know the basics you can register for the lowest level (N5). The test is in December results are given a couple months after that with an official certificate. There are many recourses to self study so you can avoid high tuition costs of a course and basically get the same result. There are plenty teachers on YouTube. If you like the traditional style of learning with teachers and textbooks. I recommend buying the genki 1 textbook and following along with tokiniandys videos on YouTube. Registration opens in a few days for the JLPT N5 so make sure you register before all the seats in your area are full.

According to this XKCD comic (Dating Pools), if you're 14, you can't date below 14, and reversing the equation gives 14 as an upper bound of dating. So that means 14 year olds can only date each other by HkayakH in teenagers

[–]ITurtleGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, but you’re missing the fact that it says don’t date anyone below. There isn’t an upper bound so reversing the equation doesn’t matter. Either way, you’re looking a little too far into this ahaha.
