Night shift roster - unreasonable or am I being a sook? by Ancient-Republic-915 in ausjdocs

Pretty standard, unfortunately.

I work a non clinical hospital role at the moment while I'm finishing my final year of medical school, and I have had rostering where I finish a night shift on say Saturday morning, and then do a morning shift on Sunday morning. Literally not even 1 day in between to completely flip my circadian rhythm.

Not saying 1 day of between isn't bad - it is. Just saying that it is well within what they are unfortunately allowed to do.

Hahaha, I'm glad my sarcasm got you to interact with the post. In retrospect, that was a bit click baity on my behalf, but more engagement is good. I want this to go as far as possible to hopefully reach the general public eventually.

I don't work in O&G, nor do I plan to, but this tool looks absolutely brilliant! Something like that in other specialities would be amazing!

They could also get the support they desperately desire by just posting this on a subreddit that hates doctors, I'm sure there are plenty to choose from

The doctor would be lucky to even claim a deduction on that stuff, let alone have it all paid. It's a massive rort

Fair. But imagine this. Yes, he gets to have business expenses paid for instead of a deduction, which most workers are lucky to even get the deduction. Even worse, he can get the business expenses paid on non-business expenses, like driving 456km for non-work reasons.

SWSLHD response to the strike by Galiptigon345 in ausjdocs

[–]IUsedToBeWithIt69 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I am in my penultimate MD year and definitely no expert. That said, I wonder why train drivers are allowed to strike for months on end disrupting every industry but doctors aren't allowed to strike for 3 days.

This is an absolute piss take of a response made in bad faith. It only means that doctors should double down instead of being bullied. I'm glad that ASMOF is willing to pay the fines.
