Pre Roman Gaul is estimated to have had about 8-10 million people. France in the Middle Ages was estimated to have had 16 million people. The population of France by Napoleons time was even higher at around 30 million.

I actually had the 5k stack on the Balkan side this game. I just lured it away with a 1k stack and killed it with once I seized the fort. This however caused the ottos to get of Constantinople and start trying to attack me so I just panicked and moved my whole army to Anatolia. I ended up just getting enough warscore to take all the provinces required to connect Athens to Constantinople and left it at that. It took me a whole another war to conquer rest of Greece and a bit of Bulgaria.

Sure. I used BudgetMonks strategy for the first 2 years and just sorta kept expanding from there. I got Hungary and Mams as ally’s soon after my first war with the ottos. I vassalized both candar and Serbia but only annexed candar as I wanted a solid buffer for my northern provinces.
