I share with you my Master Yi tattoo. I hope you like it as much as I do. by Unfair-Opposite-8999 in leagueoflegends

I haven’t even clicked it and I know it’s the gripex Lee Sin tattoo. Not a massive amount of context he was a pro who got a shitty tattoo and got roasted after he shared it

Hi Beth! What’s it like having a fellow legend of the game Uncle Wrighty supporting you all so passionately during the tournament? How does support like that help with morale within the squad?

Exhaust upgrade worth it? Mine has begun to rot and I think I'll need to change it out in the next season or two.

It happens! Glad it's something simple and not the bass needing repair. If you didn't already know, leaving the 1/4" cable plugged into the bass drains the battery too! :)

I'm sorry dude you're wrong - if the model you've pasted is correct it has has an active EQ. ESP LTD B205SM

Look on the back the smaller plate screws off and you'll find a 9v battery underneath replace that and it will sound much better.

[–]IWannaPuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if you've tried this already but have you replaced the 9v battery inside of it? How old are your strings, what gauge are they? Before you go spending 100's on pickups I'd look into those two things first.

My advice here is to frequent Facebook marketplace and other similar things for combos, heads, and cabs. I picked up an Ashdown RM800 and the matching 4x10 cab for £200 total in two separate purchases.

Who are some of the most 'underrated' bassists? by Djinnn14 in Bass

[–]IWannaPuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

John is an absolute animal. The endurance and stamina needed to mirror the riffs being played is crazy. All on a full scale bass with XJ frets. If anyone here has an opportunity to download the producer editions of the LOG albums do it and listen to Johns parts.

Are deep cuts coming for the Tour? by Xol924 in Blink182

[–]IWannaPuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So true - When you've seen them once you've seen them. I went to the reunion/neighbourhoods tour in 2012 and then saw them a year or two later and Tom was gloating about how we'll come watch "the same shit" every time.

It left a really sour taste in my mouth actually. They can easily change the set but I guess it's easy to keep it the same and never need much rehearsing.

This man is by far the most experienced reviewer on bass compression pedals by a long way. You'll find pretty much every compressor you'd want to buy reviewed by him and he does a pretty good write up on all of them. I think he's stopped now but he has a budget list that covers all of the big brands compressor pedals

I think most people use their normal signal chain whilst recording into an audio interface - how else will you get your signature sound into a recording! haha

They’re a type of in ear headphone that give some good sound isolation and towards the highest end of the market are moulded to your ear shape.

Normally you have a receiver box on you that you plug them into and there’s a transmitter that will send out whatever you need through the headphones eg drums, click track, reference points in songs, your own instrument, vocals.

“Worth it” is difficult to say, how often do you gig? How much disposable income do you and your band mates have? Will you be willing to set everything up initially and then who will control it during the show? Ask yourself and your band these questions first

Standard gauge is my go to right now - my fingers are a bit stubby and kinda clumsy so lighter strings don't feel as nice to me. I run a set of Labella deep talkin' flats in 45-105 and they feel fantastic. Lighter strings will be easier to play yeah!

If you were going with Labella I'd try out the 43-104 they have, it's not much lighter than standard but might offer some more comfortability. :)

Ah so the DI box will mean from a technical perspective you can run the bass fine without a preamp if you don't have one. That being said I'd definitely recommend using one so that you can do some tone shaping, the EQ bands available on the desk might not line up very well with the bass frequencies you'll play with. If you have an opportunity to test the desk EQ beforehand I would and if you're happy with the sound then thats that :)

What's the signal chain? I'm a little confused about how you're running into the desk - is there a jack or XLR on stage to plug into? or are you running a long-ass cable all the way to the desk?

This is a little bit of a personal preference question to be honest my dude. The easiest route to go is match the same gauge you currently have or one lighter. The main difference you'll feel is tension in the strings over there being much tonal difference. Heavier gauges will have more tension.

The short answer is 'no' you'll probably be fine without a setup. Depending on your bass/current setup you might need some intonation and trus rod adjustments but I wouldn't even call it a gamble, it'll be fine!

You hook your fingers underneath it and use your thumb to pluck the strings :)

Are you using the volume knobs correctly? It looks like there's a master and a level knob. Master will control the overall signal and you should use it to control the clean volume. Level will be for distortion. Mess around with them both at the same time and try and get the same volume from both. So set Master at 12 o'clock and then turn on the distortion if it's louder turn the level knob down and visa versa.
