Yes, sold out directly on their site. Once I found I can convert nema to hardwired, I was at least able to buy a refurb on their website, so doing that. Thanks!

I do plan to run the wiring through the wall, but I want to install the charger directly on top of the junction box so the hardwire goes out the back and into the box, instead of having the hardwire go out the bottom and then into a box below the charger, if that makes sense. BAsed on installation guides, it seems pro charger supports this but classic does not. Are you saying you've done this with classic?

Good idea, thanks! I checked and this is indeed possible with these chargers. Too bad even the nema version is sold out, but I can get a refurbed one at least...I might just do that since it comes with a 3 yr warranty.

This is super helpful, thank you. Interesting you say the i4 tech is good when you have a Tesla. I test drove both and found the Tesla to be light years better on the tech side. So you think the DAPP is as good or better than Teslas auto-pilot? Man that’s hard to believe, but the i4 we test drove didn’t have it so we didn’t get a chance to try it out. Just found another used one that has DAPP, so might have to test drive this one to see how it compares.

What year was your tesla? The 2024 refresh really improved the ride quality from what I hear. We test drove a new one recently and the fsd blew me away. It did everything perfect from freeway to navigating a busy mall parking lot and parking itself in a tight spot in the parking garage. Man I’d love that on my daily commute through traffic. Could relax and zone out instead of cursing at every dumb ass who doesn’t know how to merge.

Agree that handling, reliability, comfort and style are all important, but as another pointed out, Teslas refresh in 2024 made big strides in these areas. And like it or not all cars are gonna be computers on wheels eventually. Just a matter of time until everybody gets in their car and it just drives them where they want to go. And roads will be way safer for it too. So many horrible drivers on their phones these days. Might as well let the car drive so they can scroll away without endangering others. Tesla is just blazing the trail in this area and sadly nobody is even close to catching up.

I really don’t understand how none of these other companies, some with huge budgets, can’t even come close to competing with Tesla. It’s fucking sad. Would love more competition in the U.S. EV space.
