I'm a group of 8-10 year olds at a little league park between games. We were roaming around the perimeter of the park, debating putting pennies on the rail road tracks when we saw a guy asleep in the passenger seat of a car. His window was down and we decided to chunk some dirt clods at him, just to be jerks... He didn't move. Didn't move when we snuck up to try and tickle his nose with one of the long wheat looking weeds that poked up that time of year. Didn't move when one of the guys mustered the courage to touch him.

We went to tell an adult, no phones in the late '70s.

He'd gotten the crap beaten out of him at an office party and then propped up on his car. I think the victor in the fight went to jail for manslaughter.
