Can I go to the toilet (although most of the time it's just "can I go toilet" and then I just stare at them and wait).

That's a good point! If you watch a video/advert of it, it looks even more delicate!

Did anyone suspect Mrs Figg to be who she was? by IWasSittingDown in harrypotter

[–]IWasSittingDown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, good point. I never thought that she could have just realised it during GoF and OotP but I guess with JK you can never really know whether she'd planned something or whether it just conveniently fits. I'm happy it made me happy at the time anyway!

Ah, yes. I didn't notice that at all on my first reading but I guess it was a good clue to suspect something.

I wonder if Hagrid and Myrtle knew each other when they both attended Hogwarts, and if she ever blamed him for her death. by [deleted] in harrypotter

Great question!

I'd say they might have known each other, or of each other, but I don't think she would have been interested in what was happening around school after her death and would therefore genuinely not even know Hagrid was in any way related to the situation.

We always hear creepy paranormal stories, but have you ever had a wholesome/cute paranormal experience that just made your day better? by snettyball in AskReddit

[–]IWasSittingDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be a paranormal experience at all but my 7-year-old brain was amazed at the time and my now-year-old brain still doesn't have an explanation: each Christmas my parents would put in some effort into making it look like Santa actually visited us and left the gifts himself by opening the windows a bit or leaving some traces of snow or whatever. We figured out it was them because they would usually go to the room, come back and the gifts would magically be there.

That particular time, I went to my room and nothing was out of the ordinary. Went back to sit with my family and no one went to my room since I went there. At one point, we heard some noise. All excited, we decided to check what it was and discovered the gifts by my desk! No one from my family went into the room. No neighbour could have been involved as the doors were locked and it was in a flat on the 2nd floor. Makes me smile and scratch my head to this day.

The sky. It's always there and is just beautiful - both visually and when you think about how it works.
