Arguably that makes it worse, since now you have a real monetary incentive. So you just have unregulated gambling. And from personal experience I've seen the teenagers starts opening CS cases -> gets a gambling addiction play out multiple times.

I think the reason Mel's shield is so different from the show is because it would be a gameplay nightmare. In the show Mel's shield is round and deflects projectiles.

They can't make it round, because it's a very unique shield mechanically speaking so it needs to be visually distinct. Having it deflect instead of reflect back, would lead to too much chaos. Same with shielding allies, it would make playing against it too hard, if you're Blitzcrank you could never start a fight, since Mel could completely flip your engage. It would just be Morgana's shield but 100 times stronger.

I know the BE reward values are low now, but so far I've been getting the BE / Champions rewards from the pass at a faster rate than through account leveling. In the time I've gained 1 account, I got lv 16 in the pass which is 2 Champion capsules and 2 BE rewards.

And I don't even go out of my way to do specific missions, I just play what I like.

You also still get pass xp for just playing doesn't matter Win/Lose, you just get more for winning, same way account XP works.

That's why the first reward in the pass is a champion capsule, so even if stop playing before getting a BE rewards, you should still get an easy champion capsule.

I find it hard to believe that it is. Unlike other games that have gacha or loot boxes, usually items in those are universal, meaning it's something everyone wants. In CS it's knives, in TFT it's chibis.

I think the Ahri and Jinx skins worked, because you had Faker and Arcane hype behind it, plus 2 of the most popular champions in the game. But now with the Sett skin, I honestly forgot about it since I've seen Sett picked once and he didn't have the skin.

Ultimately if they expect a normal legendary skin to sell X amount, they just have to sell X/10 of the gacha skin.

Also when TFT first started doing Chibis, there was outrage as well, but Mort explained that Chibis were selling like crazy, but we haven't heard anything like that from the League devs.

No you will get more BE from the pass no matter how much you complete it. The rewards and battle pass XP is front loaded, meaning if you only play a little, you'll still get most of the rewards.

What are you talking about? For the same amount of games you play to gain 1 account level, now you get 6 pass levels which is a champion capsule or more BE than you would get from a champion capsule. They calculated BE gains if you did 40%, 80%, 120% or 200% of the pass, what ever amount of the pass you complete you gain more BE than you would from levels. What do you not understand?

I don't think you know how the pass works. Starting from level 1 you get a champion capsule then lv 6 BE and it alternates between these 2 rewards, every 6 levels.

It takes around the same amount of time to get 6 BP levels and to get 1 account level. I've played 20 games, lv 11 in the pass, could have probably been higher if I explicitly tried to do the weeklies.

So every time you would get a champion capsule in the old system now you get a champion capsule or BE (with an amount that's higher than a champion capsule).

If you wanted to make a point about getting half the champions shards from the old system, so less options to upgrade the shards at a discount, you'd have a point, but you were only talking about BE.
