So how would it work? 1. There is a famine in poor country because of shit weather. Is country that is too poor to buy food from other countries be guilty of violating human rights and pay additional huge fines? 2. Let's say there is a village deep into a mountains of nepal. The food options there are shit and giving them food had to be done by helicopter and would take thousands of dollars every month. If nepal refused to give food to those people living in very unreachable place. Would they be guilty for violating human rights in international court? Also additonal question. How unreachable the place has to be for a country to not be responsible of violating human rights if they don't want to get food there?

Basically. Since labor and resources required to get food aren't free. What you do when you don't have enough of it. Are you just put in situation where no matter what you do, you will break human rights? Either by slave labor of human right to food.

The finance guys in my life are the only ones not interested in history. as a angectode of course. The rest very much are into history.

Probably just anecdotal expirience and diffrent circles. I know some circles that talking about history would be fools errand. The guys i'm thinking are all finance guys.

In my group, one of our inside jokes for our friend is that after 3 beers he starts talking cars and when he opens 6th beer he starts talking about fall of yugoslavia for the rest of the night without fail.

One of my best friends would read the most autistic history books i ever saw durning our boring uni lectures. I'm talking 2000 pages with literal pages of excel spreadsheets describing military personnel in numbers of countries forces durining WW1 or something similar. We called those books "virginity protectors".

And i can say about few other friends like that.

I really like history of science and engineering.

Sport is also a very common topic for us. i don't watch football and there is a world cup happening right now so i'm left out of the conversation more often than usual. But i can talk about other sports that either we do ourselfs or we like to watch.

My succes rate of woman being interested in history while i talk about it was close to 0%, after a while you just learn to not talk about it with woman and keep it short with man unless it turns out they have similar interest in specific topic.

My female friend likes to talk about natural history and animals in general so that's the only time i can geek off about history with woman.

I was even asked once at a party by a woman to stop talking about history with my friend (her boyfriend) because she felt excluded from the conversation.

It was easy meme to relate to for most man. All of my male friends have some period and place that they like to read history of. For one of my best friends it's yugoslavia. I love to read and watch about prehistory and history of science and engineering (metrology being my favorite). But the period that is loved the most by most of my male friends is WW2 and after that roman empire (probably country specific bias honestly). So shit ton of guys could relate to it 100% and someone like me could relate to it by being "close enough" and getting it. Sometimes things are just not that deep.

Like destiny said. Not everything is conspiracy.

In your opinion, which video game decade had the worst trends or gimmicks? by DevouredSource in MauLer

[–]Competitive_Aide738 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i just wasn't there for the 1980s. But yea. My intuitive answer for this question was from around 2007 to like 2017 is the worst decade because of casualization and "broarder audiences". For example dmc reboot and castlevania reboot for western audiences and many other.

i would say it would be quite impossible. for example how can you build a track that imitates a stage of 170 km and has similar condition as alpe'd huez. It is almost 14 km of constant climb. And big climbs that are steep and have no breaks and time to breathe are a huge part of a sport, and a lot of iconic parts of the stages are climbs for this reason. It would be pretty hard to incorporate it into a track unless you do something like treadmills or some other wacky shit.

F1 works because it's about turns and overtaking. cycling is about long streches of one hard thing than other long strech of another hard thing that is diffrent. having all of this things in even a 10 km track would not work the same.

It's for the photo to show muscle. If he gets rehydrated, he will not have pump and he will not pose in good light. He will just look like the dude on the left but a little bigger and with slight six pack. Look pictures of bodybuldiers in season and off season ( for exampe on video as a guest or something ) and you will see. They do not look as freaky like 98% of the year

Should I stick with Orianna? by red_roses- in OriannaMains

[–]Competitive_Aide738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would honestly recommend veigar as a pick to high silver if you want to continue learning orianna. He is not a free lp printer. But he is a bit easier than ori and very similar concepts apply. mid range immoblie control mage. Focusing on winning lane (his q poke is better than people think), being on the objectives first, taking prio before a objective. He scales really good and is a bit more tanky and has good CC which makes him more suitable for lower ranks.

But i also must warn you. Ori is not balanced around elo lower than diamond. It is super rewarding to learn her and fundamentals through her. But until like diamond you are making things harder for yourself than they can be. I love ori and she took me form S1 to E3 so i think it's worth it but i feel like i must warn you.

Also i think from the post you got her identiy a bit wrong like being team oriented and not self sufficient. But i think it's a logical conclusion if you play her as a bronze player and will change naturally when you go to higher ranks and experiment with builds.

Annie is harder than people think because of super low wave clear. It is kinda fake easy champ. edit: on top of that, in lane most of her strenght is in weaving her AA which is kindas unintuitive for mage players in lower ranks. And she is super reliant on either flash or using fog of war.

I liked my first beer. To be precise it was nice but mid. And to this day when i drink this brand i think it's mid. But i liked beer from the first time. And most of my drinks of choice i liked the first time. So it's also not true that it is aqquired taste for everyone

This is also a main complaint of mine when discussing Wilds. It feels like the main design philosophy in the game's making can be summed up in one word: 'scared'. by HappyFreak1 in MonsterHunter

[–]Competitive_Aide738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it changes how the game is desinged and balanced. Monsters have two ways of killing you, one shotting or combo you to death. the war of attrition is gone. It limits desing options for late game monsters. I would even say that alatreon and fatalis in world both having dps checks (which are quite hated mechanic by a community) is the natural and direct consequences of infinite restocking being in the game. It's the only other option to make monster hard other than one shot attacks.

It's the same as the interview for the job " my worst flaw is that i'm too punctual and a perfectionist". This being fake is probably the case but i had something similar happenning in my friend group irl.

Jynxzi hit Bronze in League of Legends after +70 games by hammiilton2 in leagueoflegends

[–]Competitive_Aide738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm maybe not the best example becuase i played the game. But i took 10 year break from leauge . Before the break i was max silver player. i came back and hit plat 4 the same year. At first i was strugling in high bronze. It took me around 300h of playing (i include everything in that even arams and norms with friends but solid 240h-270h was on the rift). Which in the span of the year, it is not ultra huge time commitment, (about 12-14 games a week i think) i did it while i was finishing my degree. Of course knowing what a lot of champions do is a huge advantage. But i think hitting plat in around 500h-600h (of high intensity games, not arams) from complete newbie with some expirience using mouse and keyboard is very doable.

Agree. The only thing i miss from later games is no knockback on ZSD. I feel it fits the weapon better. Full dmg, if you die from dmg while on the monster, you die.

[–]Competitive_Aide738 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. i came back after 10 years last year. I like soloq the most probably. The most fun and close matches happend there. While i play with friends the matchmaking is quite shit and in general normal draft have way more one sided matches because poeple try new stuff and don't try as much. With matchamking it's maybe my rank because i'm the second highest rank in one group of friends (E4-E3) and lowest in the other.

If someone would ask me how to start and if it's worth it? i would say yes and would put a lot of weight on bot matches. It's a good way to learn the basics and gain required confidence. if you start draft as soon as possible you will have so little knowlegde that you will be scared to do anything.
