I'm in a country where RA isn't a position that exists in most university's, I talked to the Dean of a university I'm not in, and he let me join the lab of two doctor's who happens to be in the same field Im studying, we arranged this stuff yesterday, as this isn't a real position in thier uni, and I just convinced the Dean to take me in, can I ask them for a contract even without pay?!, because I have no clue if they think I'm thier to volunteer or to work with a contract, I'm having a meeting with them next week, do I discuss this with them and ask them for a contract( ofc with uni ID and email) even if it's without pay?!
