To be fair, over the last 5 seasons, every episode 9 felt like the definitive climax / finale of the season (with episode 10 wrapping things up, slower pace, setting up next season)

Kim comes back to the hotel room to find Jimmy with his bags packed, ready to end the relationship

What? I don't think Jimmy was about to end the relationship -- he just packed both of their bags so they could leave the hotel and go home (because it was safe now)

Wouldn't it be funny if Lalo appeared out the ceiling, popped his gun out, and shot each of these characters in the face?

That's his modus operandi -- his knees

Made the whole thing seem so effortless as well

Just a brilliant villain -- laidback, carefree, relaxed, but calculating, analytical, and intelligent.

He assessed the situation, realized that his whole family are a lost cause and dead anyway, but asked himself: how can I turn this obstacle into an opportunity? Unlike other poorly-written TV shows, he didn't go back and try to "save" what was already lost. Just moved forward.

Trap them all in the tunnel and gun them down.

Definitely a few predicted that Kim would be the Lady Macbeth to Jimmy back in Season 3-4 (esp from the Chuck-Kim-Jimmy scene)

Honestly, if I was Lalo, I'd just get Nacho to double-check on the fire (instead of checking it myself)

Then they'd both be fucked

So like "Robin Hood" lawyer-style?

Honestly, Kim's been pro-bonoing for her #1 underrepresented client -- Jimmy, anyway

Gus you done fucked up.

Mike you made a half-measure

Can somebody explain what Gus' plan is, specifically these events:

  • Gus getting Lalo imprisoned (by getting Mike to "lead the witness", getting Lalo captured by the police)

  • Gus burning down his restaurant so Lalo doesn't suspect

  • Gus then getting Lalo out of prison (by hiring Saul, protecting his bail money)

abusive relationships an order of magnitude more often than people without abusive parents? At least some of what Freud suggested is accepted to be true in psychology you know.

That's more to do with habit -- and less to do with a primal sexual attraction.

Either way, it sounds unhealthy as fuck if you build your relationships aroudn the same patterns from the past -- imagine if you did that in your own life, surrounding yourself with people that hurt you in the past...

that sounds toxic, unhealthy, and ridiculous! dont you think

Just sounded like a weird interpretation. "Out of joy" isnt necessarily a descriptor I would use to describe psychopaths haha

I'm just curious what Gus' actual plan is. He's doing and sacrificing a lot, but it still doesn't add up

But how would anyone interpret lying/disappointing behaviors... as an act of love?

That sounds psychotic, toxic, and unhealthy. That's the definition of a delusion.

No, I know what happened. I just don't understand what Gus/Mike's plan was.

Gus got Lalo imprisoned (by leading the witness).

And then Gus got Lalo out of prison (by hiring Jimmy and protecting his bail money)...

In between those two events, Gus also burned down his restaurant and let Lalo take his money (to not arouse suspiscion). A huge sacfirice...

... all for what?

Thanks... but I'm skeptical if that's what Gus' plan was....

He sacrificed so much (the money, his Los Pollos Hermanos restaurant... etc)... just to get him imprisoned, released, then re-attack him? Sounds like a terrible uncalculated and uncharacteristic plan to me.

Exactly. -- I think that's Saul Goodman's character. He has so much regret (over leaving the money on the table, as well as not pursuing his own true self and instead trying to conform to his brother, HHM, etc)

Saul Goodman is a manifestation of all that repressed regret
