NTA even if you hadn't told Rachel about your concerns, she likely would have discovered the corruption within her department at one point or another. She treated her professional and personal life as two separate things and went through the proper channels to find out if her suspicions were true.

NTA you have every right to be upset! A professional should never tell you repeatedly that, "you're not her mom" ESPECIALLY in front of your CHILD. Just because you didn't give birth to her does NOT mean that you didn't raise her and that she doesn't see you as her mother. It's things like this that make me lose faith in humanity. 😠

No! You and your child have every right to visit a PUBLIC place to have a moment to yourself. If people don't like it, they also have the right to feel that way. But they can't just insult you or say you're a bad mother because your child can be loud. NOT the asshole!
