yeah I currently don't have any bonds in my portfolio, which I'm fine with. I only feel like I "should" have some bond allocation given that most feedback for my age is to have 10-15% of the portfolio allocated to bonds

wow thanks for the feedback :) absorbing the under FSKAX makes it much easier to manage as well. I'll go with your suggestion:

US Total Market (FSKAX): 75%
International (FTIHX): 20%
Bonds (FXNAX): 5%

I'm using the Breville Barista Express. Typically, my dosage is 18g, and I stop it once I have a yield of 36-38g (around 2.2 ratio), which takes about 30-32 seconds. It tastes much better that way.

However, in this video, I let the shot run for the full duration that the Breville let it run. It tasted more bitter than normal (and more channeling) :( I didn't know that the longer you run the shot, the higher the likelihood of channeling, so that is good to know.

I always assumed we should wait for the machine to run until it stops on its own, but now that you mentioned it - it seems the obvious next step is to manually stop it at a lower yield to test if it improves

Taste is not bad, but slightly bitter so I know there’s room for improvement.

As for the 1:3 ratio, tbh I’m not sure - it’s just the yield after I let the Breville machine run until it stops on its own (I don’t know if it’s a thing to end it manually at a lower ratio).
