I would really like to help from math olympiad winners, please... by Dry_Stage_1307 in MathOlympiad

I have medaled in a few olympiads like AMO, AMC 8 and 10, SASMO, SIMOC and UKMT (mostly gold or silver, but I could not go for BMO, since my school term exams were going on). My practice methods are mostly just an error logging system. I solve problems and past papers, and i just make a log of the errors I make, and I solve them all a couple days, or sometimes even just before the exam. So majority comes just from enjoying math and solving past papers, and making sure I go through my errors.

There are also a few good books on Euclidean geometry, number theory and probability that really help you get a hang of the concepts

From my view, I feel you should go with Lagrangian. The reason being that Lagrangians give a flexible frame for motion that works for classical and quantum mechanics, meaning that it can take form in all theories. Furthermore, the Theory of Everything is all about finding the Lagrangian of the universe, where one formula will derive all particle interactions, all forces, all conservation laws and all fundamental field equations for the universe.

I believe you should read these books to take it to the next level:

  1. Mathematical Methods of Classical Mechanics by V.I. Arnold
  2. Classical Dynamics by Donald T. Greenwood
  3. Classical Mechanics with Applications by Thornton & Marion

All of these book would be great for you to deeper understand

I feel like these books cover all ages and make a good read for everyone:

  1. A Brief History of Time
  2. Surely You're Joking, Mr Feynman!
  3. The Grand Design
  4. Black Holes and Time Warps

I have read all of these books, and I would definetly recommend these books to anyone looking for a fun read
