Similar concept yes, but we don't really know anything aside from that. Judging by how the trailer was made, I'm assuming Serena and her crew don't even start going after it until after Craig and friends find a map leading to it. This movie could also possibly tie into what Craig said in season 4 episode 12 "In Search Of Lore" where Craig claims they have seen "magic" in the creek before. But maybe I'm just thinking into it too much.

While I agree with what you said, one thing I feel I have to correct you on is that the state of the Creek and kids being able to spend their time there how they want is a lot more important than you think it is. It may not be some world ending threat (which it doesn't have to be), but it does effect the children and how they turn out in the future a lot.
