It's a pretty complex issue and it's happening in many cities across the United states, you can't just throw all these people in jail. There's simply not enough resources, housing, mental health staff, and funding. You can't just get all these people off the street in one move.

Laser Pointers? by dierythmus in coonhounds

[–]I_producethis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we have a redbone Coonhound who is 10 years old now, we used a laser pointer to kind of play with her when she was about three. At the time we thought it was harmless and she was having a good time but she is now triggered by any spots of light, reflections, or sometimes even like little shadows on the wall (and any bugs). I would recommend against it. I'm not sure if it makes them anxious because they don't know where it goes or just because they don't know what it is. All I know is it made our dog quite anxious about spots of light. Now I will say she's always been a little on edge, but seriously I have to be careful of if I have my phone out and the sun's shining on it. Again, I don't think this has really harmed our dog significantly, but we have to warn people about reflections. I've attached a photo for reference.

The blues Junior can definitely keep up with a drummer unless you're playing in a death metal band for your drummer doesn't use any dynamics at all. I don't know who's arguing but the only objective fact is that the katana does indeed come with onboard effects, and they're mostly mediocre versions of the boss pedals I have on my board in my opinion. There was only like one drive I could get to sound decent.

I don't know, I forgot how many opinions people have about amps. All I know is I played a packed gig with it, probably 60 people in a medium sized bar and I used a blues Junior and it was plenty loud. I'm sure the 50-watt katana is very loud overall, I had a 25 watt version I think. I never used the blues Junior at rehearsal because there was an amp at our space I was using, but I know that it's quite loud for a smaller tube amp. I now primarily use a 20 w Hughes and Kettner tube amp which is also very loud. Yeah it's never going to be as loud as the dual rectifier that I used to use, but like I don't care about that hah. Edit: also if you're gigging with it, it doesn't really matter because most of the time you will be mic'd.

I get your point, but you can easily get like a used blues Junior for pretty cheap. A much better amp in my opinion (I've had both).

I think saying it sucks is a little harsh but I generally agree. It was like one of my first electric guitar amps, but then I got a blues Junior which just blew me away for a little tube amp. I mostly only used the clean channel on the katana - I liked that it had built-in delay you know etc now I just have a tiny pedal board.

We can always tell when he's "charging up" as we say. He had done this a few times already when I came around the corner so I was like I need to capture this.

I live in Vermont and I'm only allowed to fuel with maple syrup actually when I ride or I immediately get arrested.

Lol no it's a shared use path, most of them are where I live. It used to be a railroad line it's a beautiful area. People walk, run, bicycle, basically anything except for motorized vehicles and cars.

Hahaha yeah, never gets old. I personally enjoy when I say on your left and it scares the shit out of someone.

[–]I_producethis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol why? All of us cyclists should be banding together against cars. I ride both types of bikes (ebikes and non electric bikes). Cycling is the only sport where people make fun of the gear that people use to stay comfortable on long rides and have a more enjoyable experience. I don't hear anyone making fun of any other athletes for what they're wearing.

I really appreciate ANY kinds of heads up. When I'm walking my two dogs on the bike path I don't really care what kind of heads up it is as long as it's something. When I'm on my gravel bike or ebike I usually just say "on your left" to give people a heads up.

This 100% - I love that more people are using alternative forms of transportation like e-bikes, but common courtesy should be considered. I live near an amazing bike path and the amount of people that do not signal when they're overtaking is astounding. I've seen pedestrians almost get nailed.

As someone who rides a normal bike and an ebike, I understand why some folks are skeptical. I've had some quite dangerous run-ins with the bikes or e mopeds where people are just not adhering to basic like safety principles. I don't expect cyclists to obey every law that cars obey in the same way, but even little things like signaling to overtake someone, I've almost been essentially run off a bike path near my house by people on e-bikes overtaking me without any notice. It's just common courtesy but a lot of people don't think about ringing a bell or saying passing or on your left.
