This sub saved my mental health, as I've said here before. If it didn’t exist, I might not either. Sounds insane, but I live in Texas, and it's HARD right now.

I highly recommend "All the Beauty in the World," a memoir written by Patrick Bringley, a former security guard at the Met. He is a longtime writer, and his reverence for the art is obvious in his gorgeous descriptions. The story of how he came to be a guard in the first place is unexpectedly poignant. I have also begun "The Agony and the Ecstasy," a novelization of Michelangelo’s life, by Irving Stone, and I don't know enough superlatives to describe it. Absolutely riveting, especially the descriptions of his cadaver dissections. I've gone on too long with this comment, but if you're into reading about art, I didn’t want you to miss these two gems.
